Who served?

E5 Sergeant USMC Grunt 0331 2006-Honorably discharged Dec. 2010. Silver star and purple heart recipient.

Israel military service 86-89 (mandatory) and some reserve afterwards . Nothing to write home about .

2009 - to present. It feels to me like i am in a whole different category when i see things like other marines and soldiers and sailors posting that they were in in the 70'2 and 80's. my step dad was in the army in (approximately) 1971 to ? and spent a tour in vietnam. i dont feel like myself or service members of my generation really compare the those before us. its because of the gentleman posted above myself ^^^ and others like them that i even have the opportunity to serve my country today. god bless us, our families, everybody we serve to protect, and every fair and honest individual that sleeps under the colors of this country everynight. and God bless the fallen of past and present, as well as those to come. i never felt what memorial day was about until this year. - Lance.

Here, Here!

US Army 1981-84, then NY Army National Guard 1984-89. Hon discharge after they failed to meet thier end of my re-up agreement. Obtained SP/4 while in active Army. Made my E-5 Buck Seargent in active Army as well, but 4 hrs later, AFTER my award of my stipes in formation, they pulled them from me when the CSM found out i was not going to re-enlist. "I'm not going to waste a promotion on you if your not going to re-enlist !!!" That was just great. I did'nt have much respect for the US Army after that. I earned that by schooling & NCO school & the promotion board.
