who sharpens your knives?

Party of owning a knife is taking care of it, and part of taking care of it is sharpening it. A dull knife is dangerous and useless. I have always sharpened my own knives ever since I was very young. Take the time to learn how to sharpen your own knives, you will not regret it. Keep asking questions here on the forums there are a lot of knowledgeable people here willing to help. Good Luck!

skip the sharpmaker and go right for the paper wheels - it probably wont take you more than a few times with an el' cheapo for practice, shortly after you will be getting freaking razor sharp edges

Do those wheels work well when you have no place to mount an electric motor? Some of us don't have a garage or workshop, and some would be out of a home if they tried mounting one in the kitchen. ;)

I believe that learning to sharpen a knife should be part of owning a knife, but I've sharpened a lot of knives for people who didn't seem to know that knives could even be sharpened (or sharp for that matter).

yep, i met a guy that owned a really nice spyderco that he won off a friend (card game i guess)...i worked with him and realistically should have bought it off him when the offer was on the table, cause after i sharpened it for him for some beers he didnt want to part with it and didnt know a knife could be that sharp. :grumpy:
