With the NICK thread coming up again, I just thought this might be a great time for Mr. Busse to sneak in a kitchen knife into the permanent line up. He has surprised us before with cool stuff like the AK, but will he do it again?
Thoughts?

Definitelly. A 12 inch bladed one with a choil:D and fusion handles:D

I think an eight or ten inch Chefs knife would be awesome, especialy since I'm in the market for one... Go ahead and make it with EDC handles, or you could just make the Badger with EDC's... That would be just right.

I would definitely like to see at least one in the lineup. And it would make a great gift to give to those non knife people.

No kitchen knives!!!!

The company is Busse Combat....... not Busse Combat and Things.......... or Busse, Bath and Beyond.

I think they need to go the other way and start making INFI bayonets, HUMVEE's, war hammers and catapults!!!!!!

To arms... to arms. Charge!

I'd just be happy if they had more models available year round rather than having to wait 2+ years to make it through the cycle. :(

My preference would be a 5" Santoku blade. It could be made combatizable (is that a word?) by putting a spear point on it.

LOL...

If it makes you feel any better, think about it this way. Busse should produce a line of knives which are intended to serve the purpose of eating emergency rations.

I can see the ad now:

"After a lengthy war, rations may be diminished. You need to rely on a good quality combat blade to effectively eat your enemy. Depend on Busse Combat!"

Good stuff right there. I could use a good melon-baller as well. :D

Now that I think of it...isn't that a DO ad? ;)

While I do love my XXXL NICK and use it regularly I would rather see the time and energy put into something I would rather have made out of INFI....

...like a Hawk, either like the Megaladon or something more camp friendly like a tomahawk/axe... something agressive but not meant to scare a Park Ranger into early retirement.

I would also enjoy seeing some kind of interesting neck knife, or of course the folder...

I really have to agree here. I mean look how long it takes to get our regular stuff. Imagine adding the kirchen crap to it.

I'm all for it, but I don't think the interest is there. I've watched secondary sales of NICKS, and the interest is luke warm at best. I just don't get it, but you could buy either NICK for just a little more than what they originally sold for.......even though there is an excellent chance that they will never be made again.

I honestly thought that demand would be much higher since we all use knives in the kitchen multiple times a day.

Exactly what I was thinking. The guys who got a bunch of extras are probably lamenting the luke warm response to the NICKs and XXXL NICKs. I too thought they would go like crazy.

You guys know something.... here it is. There's a certain amount of time that needed for a knife to get high in demand again, and the NICK is just starting to get there. In BF, since skunk sold a bunch of them after the initial sale, at a very low price, sthere is little desire to get one among the true devotees, since most have them already. However, AFAIK, there haven't been ANY sold on eBay yet. I think that's a good sign for these to increase in value.

Let me put it to you this way. I don't have one and I wouldn't trade my Basic 7 for one. How's that. I have absolutely no interest in Kitchen ware. I consider that stuff throwaway stuff nothing more. The Nick and XXX nick are cool at low prices and at their original prices they were ok, which for the xxx was fairly low at well under $200. I cannot even imagine paying more than the original price for one. It's probably the only Busse knife that is the case with.
