Who uses craigslist.org?

Oh, a lot of "escorts" ensure some friendly "help" is nearby. But usually it is just some BIG guy or a gal packin'.

Some women even do it for blind dates.
 
Would you trust a total stranger to safeguard your personal, identifying information in response to a sex ad ??? :confused:

This is the internet, where nobody knows if the other end of the conversation is an SOB.

At first glance, the posting looked like any number of Internet classified ads explicitly seeking sex. But instead of the 27-year-old woman with long brown hair advertised in the posting, a Seattle-area graphic designer collected the replies and posted them online — with photos, names and contact information.

Privacy experts say the case treads the line legally but crosses it morally.

It all began with Jason Fortuny's posting on the online community Craigslist. According to his Web journal, Fortuny took a real ad and reposted it so that responses went straight to him. Among the 178 responses were 145 photos of men "in various states of undress." The replies included e-mail addresses, names and in some cases, instant-messaging accounts and phone numbers.

Fortuny then posted all the replies on a website devoted to parodies and satires online.

Craigslist Chief Executive Jim Buckmaster told the AP in an e-mail that Fortuny's actions violated the site's policies. He noted that the ad in question was removed several times, only to be reposted.

But since we're here, and I am the original author, I will chime in and say I still look at craigslist every day. I got the job I have now there, and have bought and sold a ton. I always look at the free section first.
 
People are jerks. People are bigger jerks when they think nobody is looking and/or they won't get caught. The internet provides very thin cover for people to make giant asses of themselves & others.

Been having lots of family issues, daughter in and out of jail and the hospital. Alcohol is the devil. We're still knee deep in the middle of it all, with more legal consequences coming up soon. We're just working and trying to make it from one day to the next. Thanks for asking.
 
I'm sorry to hear that. Remember you have lots of friends here if you ever want to talk about your troubles....

I've sold and am selling nearly everything worth a dollar or two to cover costs that are mounting. It's not a good place to be in. Glad you guys are still here to cheer me up now and then tho.
