Who wants a CQC-7 with a thumb hole?

I was kinda thinking the same thing myself about using the Super CQC-7, it will allow for around .5" longer blade length. Since I'd be working on a budget, I was doing a little research, I could get either of a couple of the Benchmades $160 or $165. Not bad considering. Also, I did look for a Super CQC-7, found one for only a few dollars more. I would really like to try to find something cheaper for this experiment though, if I do go ahead and decide to try making a blade. That all of course is as long as you guys have no objections, I don't want to step on the toes of anyone's ideas.
I would love to see it produced even if it was a handmade one-off. Keep your eye on Ebay for one with a thrashed blade and I'm sure you can get a better deal.

Well when I think of thumb hole, I think of Spyderco. To me Emerson is thumb disc, and wave. Now this idea of a CQC-7 with thumb hole I am not so sure would be an easy task. Of just identifying the target point & drilling a hole. Now we're have the Emerson CQC-7 H (hole)

Slow down I am sure if Mr. Emerson decided to build a hole Seven he would have to do some testing to make sure the (7-H) was as sturdy as the 7's with & with out wave.

I am sure there is a whole lot more to knife design that making what appears to be a simple modification of an existing design. As you have removed metal, and have you taken away strength in the process?

Honestly there are so many Emerson model to choose from now, I am sure most users who are rights should be happy.

I would love to see more TRUE LEFTY Emersons for us wrong handed folks. Mini CQC-15 would be my first choice, and I realize we lefty are only 12% of potentail buyers.

BTW I am happy Mr. Emerson offer a True Left Hsanded CQC-7 & Commander.

There's actually some pretty popular Emerson models that have the thumb hole opener. In regards to the strength of it, yeah it would probably lessen that a little bit but the super CQC-7 blade is pretty beefy. These are all just hopes and dreams and I'm sure the only way this one will get produced is either as a custom or handmade.

I would actually like to see an Emerson with wave only. Preferably styled like an a100 but with a 5" blade. Frame lock even better. I'd settle for a super 100 though.

I have owned a couple of the Emersons featuring the hole rather than the disc (minicomm and bandito), and ended up passing them along to new homes rather quickly because they just didn't seem to give me the needed "purchase" for opening and closing with one hand. Both just seemed awkwardly placed, shaped, sized or some combo of those. Those discards in fact helped me realize that the disc is one of the main things that draws me to carry Emersons. So I for one am in no hurry to see other models employing the hole. Just my $0.02.

Furthermore, my goto small folder is a micro-Commander. The hole is the only thing I'd change about it--wish it had a disc....or maybe a hole AND a disc.

My biggest wish is for a CQC-7 with a 4" blade, like the original BM 975, without further lengthening of the handle from a Super.

Actually... I do believe Ernest would like the challenge of designing a new handle for this possible blade.

I get everyone has their different opinions but the guys that are saying that we can't possibly want a new blade when we have so many already. You do realize that's how like a quarter of Emerson's models have came out specifically at the request of customer's? Post up your dream blades it doesn't just have to be mine. Who knows yours might be a new model somewhere down the line?

I had this pimped super cqc 7 with shortened handle, stock blade

always regretted letting it go.

I would not mind seeing a CQC-10 re-imagined with top of the blade half sharpened and dagger style scales.

I've come to conclusion, while I love all Emerson's, I think the CQC-7 could possibly be the best looking (sexiest) folder out there....

At least to me.

This modded one looks pretty awesome.

I've looked around a bit and couldn't find where anyone had posted but how many people would like to see a 7 with the Eotac trianglular thumb hole instead of the thumb disc and a wave hook?

Here ya go, quickly done.

Except I think it looks better with the wave, having the wave and thumb hole would be useful.
