Who wants a CRK appreciation club?

I will say I've enjoyed my time on the forum better since getting into CRK and coming over to this forum. Don't see much, if any, sparring here and almost see this forum as the "adult's table" of BF. :)

I agree. I have a lot of hobbies, and enjoy being part of the online community, but this forum is a cut above (no pun). No matter how controversial an idea is, or how limited a new members knowledge of crk might be, this forum seems to be both respectful and welcoming. I tend to go on a little long and no one so far has told me to shut up so that's saying something! ;) :)

In all honesty, it's a great crowd and I'm pretty happy with the format as it is. I wouldn't want to see anyone excluded from any of the topics discussed. I think reading some of the more passionate opinions, in-depth reviews, or general technical questions about these blades is a big factor in encouraging new people to try one out. I lurked on this forum for several months before deciding I really wanted to take the plunge and order a CRK. There are probably others like me lurking right now, working up to the "trigger pull".

I feel the exact same way as you. I use to wonder what everybody was talking about when they spoke of not liking the 'General' section as I figured you'd have folks like that wherever you went, but I have to say this sub forum is full of great people who do not engage in the childish stuff that you find in 'General' discussion. Now when I venture out into those waters I am reminded how great this sub-forum is to visit.

If you notice a lot of the "why CRK?" threads are started in General Discussion where not many actual owners frequent. So advice is relied upon people who watch YouTube videos for their opinion rather than using/handling one and forming their own. CRK isn't for everyone as it's basic personal preference like any other brand, but opinions formed because Joe Blow filmed himself cutting stranded copper wire with his Sebenza and didn't like how his edge rolled is asinine. I admit I was a skeptic of CRK before I ever handled one. My opinion changed the day I held one and bought one the same day. Few weeks later, I await my 2nd CRK and not looking back.

The nonsensical sparring that goes on in some other subforums is the same reason I left GlockTalk and most any other gun forum a year ago. Intelligent and rational discussion is rare there.

I don't join any, and think the whole club thing is a bit silly myself.
I am an old fart though :p

I agree and I think it's fair to say there is marketing involved there too. There are many that do and would see that sort of thing as juvenile and somewhat distasteful and that can drive people away rather than invite then in. I'm generally not into the whole fan club thing and have no interest in sticker books either. :p

There is the "CRK lounge" social group but it isn't particulalrly active and is obviously just an off shoot from this subforum. We also already have the "Masonic handshake" of the standardised CRK pocket clip, we all know what's in that pocket and that is enough. ;)....:D:thumbup:

I figure this forum page is a CRK Appreciation Club. We all come here to praise out beloved CRK's and show them off and discuss them to no end. Nothing more really needs to be added I think. I would like a CRK For Sale forum page because CRK is the only knives I am interested in.

I like how this sub-forum will allow pretty much anything as long as it's CRK related, and some times even if it isn't. And there isn't somebody who wants to overlord over every post and shut them down if they even have a hint of criticism toward the brand. I really enjoy this forum, and find i really don't need to go anywhere else. You guys are what makes this forum worth visiting..

I'm not really seeing any need for a club. Appreciating CRKs like I have for years in this forum has always worked well enough for me.

The nice thing about a club used to be getting together members at Blade, or larger regional shows, and a newsletter(which this forum makes un-necessary) , So I guess consensus is we do not need a club?
