Who wants a free trip to jail

Just went and looked at the bidding history and 3 of the bidders are big time collectors. So guys maybe you should worry about something else cause the guys bidding on it can take care of themselves. Plus this little thread continues to call unwanted attention to the whole thing.

I guess the seller got the message 'cause the pictures of the knife are gone now.

Erik,

With a hint that it might vanish from ebay, I saved both the images and the page. Also, I personally hadn't seen that knife, so I wanted the pictures for my files. If you didn't see it and are interested, just let me know.

Scroll to the top and do a search on this forum for "ballistic knife" and you will find a lot of recent material.

I looked at these ballistic knives when they first came out about 20 years ago or so and I thought "what a POS". I have faced people armed with a number of different weapons over the years, and this rates pretty far down on the list of things I'm worried about.

GREENJACKET, you are correct, it does not work well and best of all, the person disarms themself when they "shoot" the blade. (I think it was originally marketed as a KGB or Russian special forces knife).

I think what prompted all the legislation in the US was the knife was portrayed as such a deadly weapon on a couple of television shows that our legislators, in a typical "knee jerk" reaction, passed laws against owning one.

Ahh, the Evil, Satanic, ballistic knife.
Has it occured to anyone that the law making possesion of such a device illegal is pretty much impossible to enforce?

Think about it.

Spring action propelled projectile from a hand held device.

Sounds like a Daisy Red Ryder to me!

Has anyone ever been prosecuted under this law?
