Who wants an ES1-M?

What kind of grind will it have and who do I go thru and order it from???
 
I'm in for one of the black ones, I put it in the shopping cart, and checked it a few times and its still there. I guess I did it right, I hope, anyway does anyone have an idea on price?
 
I put my order in for one of each. I really should have found out how much they are going to run BEFORE I ordered both, but then I figured I would work overtime to pay for them.
 
I placed my order for one of these and was then faced with the question of do I want one of each.

Does anyone know if these 25 sets that T.A.D. mentions are going to be serialized? Of course then that only begs another question to answer in my own mind, since I was intending to buy only one as a "user", with two of them as a set, one has to ask if they are going to use both knives? Obviously probably not. Therefor does one buy a third knife to carry? I'm now hoping they don't have serial numbers. That way I only need to buy one rather than 3!

I'm telling ya, if my wife looked in the safe she'd have the "big one".
 
For what it's worth ( not much ) unless EKI names this knife a production ES1-M, it should not be called that. The ES1-M is a custom knife. This appears to be a large or " super-Commander ". Calling it an ES1-M just confuses the line between customs and production knives. My 02 cents worth.
 
I just placed my order, as well. Got the chrome/OD green model. Hopefully, it'll be a plain edge, rather than combo (I asked Patrick to keep an eye out, just in case 50 are plain, and 50 are combo). I like the idea of calling it the ES1-M. That's what it was modeled after, so why not? The CQC7 is both custom and production. Maybe it's the ES1-P (for Production)....

I also hope they're serialized. I think they will be (like the SOCFKs).
 
I too am hoping they come out in plain edge.

I ordered up a "Satin"/Green G10. After using a Hard Chromed/"Satin" Commander for some time now, I'm really liking it. The finish is tougher then Black-T.

As to pricing, that's in the air at this point I understand.

Any bets on how nice these are going to be? :D I'd be willing to wager that we're going to get third generation (aka larger stop pin and the nicer traction grooves) styling and serial numbers. If EKI really wanted to mess with our minds, they'd make serialize the Black-Ts 001 - 100 and the "Satin" ones 001 - 100. Who here wouldn't want a matching set and a carry piece. :D

The name. I have to agree that it should be named something other then "ES1-M". As has been pointed out, there is a custom CQC7 and a production CQC7 (A/B). Add to that the BM CQC7 and you can see why it's been a source of confusion to folks. Look at the "Specwar" custom logo and the "Specwar" production knife.

Instead of adding to consumer confusion, simply make it a unique item.

It occurs to me that we are ordering knives that;
A. We do NOT know exactly what they will look like
B. We do NOT know what it will cost
C. We do NOT know when it will become a reality
D. We don't even know what it's going to be CALLED!

Does anyone have a problem with this?

I don't think the question on the thickness of the liners have been answered yet. Does anyone know yet? :rolleyes:
