When it was in production, I always wanted one but didn't have a job or money to buy it. Now I have the money, but no one wants to sell it.:(
I mean I offered a BM Gold Class Gritilian, Spyderco Smurf Blue Manix 2 + cash,
and a $700 watch, and still nobody's interested.:grumpy:

So who wants BM to bring it back?

Shouldn't this be in the Balisong forum???

...I am glad that I snagged one back when I had the chance though! :D:thumbup::p

Half the BMs I want are discontinued. Rukus, 806, Skirmish, 40TR... The only one I want that is still in production is the Rift...

Of discontinued balisongs, I'd be interested in a Microtech Tachyon.

Not sure why Benchmade would discontinue the 42, seeing as it's in relatively high demand now and with their 2010 pricing policy they'd be sure to make a bit more off of it.

all the more reason to buy bradley suff. the mayhem is a solid knife. the kimura is finally a good ball park 100 buck bali.

but benchmade 42 is a choice knife for flipping

I agree.

Too bad the Bradley Mayhem is becoming pretty hard to come by as well. :(

The price Benchmade sells knives to dealers for has not changed. They just require the dealers to advertise a higher price but they do not have to sell them at that price. In fact many of the online shops either have coupon codes or notes to call for actual pricing. If you are paying 15% off MSRP you are paying way more than you can get them for. From what I have seen actual prices are the same as before the new pricing policy.

I just called and they don't have any more in stock FYI.

I picked up a couple of the 42's with partial serrated blades...back when they discontinued them I still have one in the box.

I don't want to see the 42 brought back - I have a retirement to pay for ;) .

And seriously, this occurred : "I mean I offered a BM Gold Class Gritilian, Spyderco Smurf Blue Manix 2 + cash, and a $700 watch, and still nobody's interested."

42's still seem to be had for about $170-200, so who would turn down a Gold Class Grip?

Sure, I might spring for one if they did. I may be off, but I assume they discontinue models so collectors know that they are guaranteed to increase in value. I may pick up Bradley's next model if they shave off some weight.

My brother in law has one NIB was purchased in late September of 2009, as my nephew wanted one for his birthday and my BIL is notorious for waiting to the last minute. So my sister called me to pick one up for him as I had told her to hurry as that model had been discoed. Well this time my BIL hadn't waited until the last minute he had actually bought one, was at their house at beginning of April and it was literally still in the gift wrap in his home office. Anyhow, I'll call him and see if he wants to sell it.

I will appreciate it, if you will. Thanks.
