I don't want to see the 42 brought back - I have a retirement to pay for.
And seriously, this occurred : "I mean I offered a BM Gold Class Gritilian, Spyderco Smurf Blue Manix 2 + cash, and a $700 watch, and still nobody's interested."
42's still seem to be had for about $170-200, so who would turn down a Gold Class Grip?
I saw your trade thread. While a Gold Class Grip is a relatively fair trade, I don't see that many people pulling the trigger on it. Gold Class Grips are still available from dealers online and will be for the rest of the year. 42's aren't, and every buyer that buys a NIB and flips/uses it takes one less NIB away from the world. The Gold Grip is a fantastic knife, I have #13, but the 42 is just much harder to come by. If you find a NIB 42 for $170-$200 that is a ridiculous steal. I always keep an eye out and recently every one I've seen has gone for $250-$300+ and it sells within an hour or two of being listed. I even saw a used one with some light scratches go the other day for $270 within an hour of being posted. Good luck on your hunt. Keep a VERY watchful eye and be ready to move. You will have much better luck just buying a 42 and selling your Manix 2 or Gold Grip than trading. Next year, when those Gold Grips are gone, a lot of people will wish they had them and the resale on those will go up. Mark my words.
