Who would like to see a full titanium, CPM-3V Para? Also I wonder why Spyderco doesn't use 3v much. To my understanding 3v would be as corrosion resistant as M4 or better and it holds a decent edge while being super tough. What do yall think?

Yes to 3V with latest HT, NO to titanium. Spyderco's G10 and CF scales are the best, not a fan of metal handles or RIL (if you were also going there).

Any new PM2 is fine by me but personally I really want a PM2 with Maxamet steel.

I doubt it would ever happen but I bet a titanium PM2 in 3V with a RIL would sell like hot cakes.

Or the above configuration with the compression lock.

I mean there coming out with a 52100 Para for gosh sakes I think 3v would be the better option. Also I wouldn't want a RIL lock because I love the compression lock for ease of use.

Wow , no love out there for titanium scales. I saw a few custom scales out there. They look sweet to me and I feel like titanium would give it a more solid feel to the lockup and action.

3v makes little sense to me for pocket knives.

Perhaps if the 3V is just there to be batoning tough.
Is 3V any more expensive than M390 ?
When we are talking higher end knife what is the price diff between a three or four inch blade in 3V vs S30V only a couple of bucks . . . I imagine . . . right ? Or maybe the heat treat costs more and must be figured in.

All I know is :
  • I like my Para 2
  • but imagine my next similar knife would be a full size Military.
  • I carry smallish 3V fixed blades in my pocket like . . . well . . . pocket knives. The latest is a CS Pendleton Hunter Mini
  • I like the way the 3V holds an edge
  • I like the way 3V sharpens
  • M390 is as good or better for a pocket knife but does it matter because I suspect it isn't any cheeper so it's a wash right ?

Ti handles ?
Oh yah baby. Grit blast it for texture or . . . texture it . . . for texture . . . heck go all the way and charge more and sculpt it too like the Slyze Bowie but even more so and go with the Military blade shape.

I'm swooning and getting the vapors just thinking about it; good thing I'm already lying on my fainting couch :p

3v - yes
Titanium - no
Same here too. Light brown G10 will be just enough.

From persona experience 3V @ 61-62HRC is awesome - great edge retention, plenty tough. A knifemaker I know made a little utility knive in 3V @ 67HRC and it performed superbly on all kinds of tests.

A Cruwear Para2 sprint is on the way so whats the point of a 3V Para2?

3V and Cruwear are close to being the same thing.

Close enough that I doubt you could tell any difference in day to day use.

I'd rather see a Maxamet Para2.
