who what why

Hi,
Well, I got my start with busses back in about 2000 or so. I was at the Michigan knife collectors club show held annually in Michigan. I was looking for a nice everyday carry knife that I could also use for a hunting knife. I stumbled upon a fella named Andrew Pinchon with a booth devoted to Busse Combat knives. I played witht he various modls that he had and decided on a lean mean street. I loved that knife so much that I next bought a Natural Outlaw E. That was the best all around camping/ hunting knife I have ever owned. I then got an assault shaker, then an original run killer B with all black handles, then a Groove Master, and now I have a Busse three finger knife. Jerry Busse has always been a true standup guy. He is always willing to speak to you personally and iron out any problems that one may have. It is for these reasons that I stick around and save my money for the next cool knife model. :)

I've always had a love or facination for knives. Long before I knew anything about what makes a quality knife. I've always kept my knives in good working condition(sharp) and have always stored them properly when not in use so my collection grew naturally and regularly. Back in early '95 Tactical Blades had a Busse SHSH on the cover with an article that caught my attention. I didn't buy one then but always kept Busse in the back of my mind as I continued to acquire other brands and makers. When the Meaner Street appeared this year in an ad in Blade magazine I knew it was finally time to get a Busse, The MrS with black paper micarta and satin blade. Since then I have picked up a NO-E, HOFSH, HOFSH-LE, SJ-TAC, and last but not least the mighty Ratweiler from Swamp Rat Knives. (regular folks can't tell the difference). As stated before on this forum,I seem to have lost my interest in other knives, but I'm sure that will return but the respect and desire for Busse's will live on.
Meeting online friends on this forum has had a big influence on my decisions also. I enjoy the company of all of you. Thanks.
Dan

~Kassi~

I was sold when I witnessed Bladde Babe Shave all of SKUNK without ever having to resharpen her SHBM. I was sure the dingleberry's would dull the blade, but Kassi never let up and that Mistress kept on shaving. After passing the dingleberrys she neared the scent sacks that all skunks have. I was sure that this would finish of the Mistress as it had done countless times before to lesser knives considering that these were no ordinary scent sacks but scent sacks from Idahoskunk himself, the biggest and baddest skunk of all. Not this time. The scent sacks were as smooth as prunes and the Mistress was still going strong. Skunk had been reduced to the size of a mole.

I was sold.

I arrived on the scene about a year and a half ago. I decided I wanted to put a good "What If" bag together and all of the survival forums I read talked about needing a good knife. Me needing the best started looking around and stumbled on BladeForums. I first found Chris Reeves knives and bought a new Green Beret, This was the first time I had spent over $80 for a knife. It was a very nice knife. A couple of weeks later I read about a company called SRKW that seemed to be more what I was looking for so I bought a Ratweiler. Now this knife was awesome and seemed to be closer to what I wanted. I read about Busse from SwampRat and again me needing the best ended up getting a SJ. Let me say that I started this mission in search of only two knives, a large one and a small one. I now have a BM-E, NO-E, BA-E, HOFSH, SHBA, AS, two SFNO's, and a LELMS. And I could kick myself for selling my SH-E and SJ. Like I stated before, I started out getting two knives for a BoB. Now I'm sitting here waiting for the mail man to slip an AK-47 in the mail box and I may need to get a therapist to help me cope with the wait for the FBM/HOFBM.
