Who will they go to?

My wife, daughter and I were returning from a trip to the store and my wife was talking about our will and who gets what when the time comes. And all of the sudden my daughter says "I only want one thing dad" and i asked what it was and she said "I want all of your knives because the boys won't take care of them like you do and I will". I was surprized at this statement, but she does bring up a good point.
She may just get her wish. But hopefully we won't have to worry about this for a very long time.

WHO will you leave them all to?

God Bless

Intersting topic, Tracy.

Mine all go to my wife unless her and I go at the same time. She is free to do what she wants with them.

If her and I should happen to go together, my youngest nephew gets em all. It's all stated in our wills.

Now that you have me thinking more about it, I wouldn't mind if someone threw one of my Schatt & Morgan Railsplitters in the casket with me.:D

All will go to my 12 year old nephew who drools over my collection. I would be honored for him to have them.

The bulk of mine will be split between my 2 boys. Some will go to my close friends & a few to my wife & brother. A small select few will be buried near where my ashes will be scattered.

At times I have debated about having some of them sold to give my family some extra money to use for stuff they are interested in or a trip. Only fallacy of that idea is how my wife would go about selling them & getting a fair price.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves knives. She'll be getting some good ones. Might have to split it up if we have another.

Ha!...amazing...i was just talking about that the other day, I need a major soon..the chest is going to be ripped open, and the surgeon is going to have a time on my ticker....anyway...my girls or lady just are not into knives at all, a few of my mates will get my special knives that mean a lot to me one or two each..., my daughters will be asked to hang onto just one each of my very favourites...so they can give this to their son/daughter at a decent understanding age, and I have left instructions for my girls onto how to log onto Forums here...get hold of a couple of guys( actually whom I havent asked yet ) so they can do either giveaways, or auction for a charity?...thats between them..at the end this place is pretty fantastic, and my knives will go to someone who truely appreciates them :D.
I hope this doesnt sound silly...but its what I want

At 40, I hope I have a couple years left but one never knows. With that said, my boy just turned 12 and is a little outdoorsman. As long as he doesn't turn into a total knucklehead during his teenage years, the plan is for my guns and knives to go his direction.

Well Tracy, they already got left.

I'm not sure why, or even how, but in my mid 60's I reached a point where the material things started to mean less to me. Same with my better half Karen. We did a giant downsize of our stuff by giving it away to our kids, grandkids, nephews, nieces, friends. I broke up my knife collection and just kept what I call a small working dozen in a cigar box. I also did this with my excess power tools, guns, clothes, fishing gear, and other stuff. After, Karen and I felt un-burdened and free. The joy of seeing our family enjoy the stuff while we're still around to see it was great. The greatest obstacle was getting the family to go along with it. Had to convince them I wasn't planning to commit hari kari or something. I love seeing one of my son's using my old whatever, and Karen loves seeing our daughter with her whatever.

Carl.

I love this! Great pic. I had a huge collection when the wife and i did our will, but since losing my business a few years ago its not as much of a issue.Dont feel bad,im happy :D and getting by fine.I have the three kids taking turns picking out what knives they want till they are gone.None are really knife nuts, but all realize and appreciate the value.PS Duncan, let us know when you have the surgery so prayers and well wishes can be sent.

I have a very large family. We had 2 children adopter 4 children out of foster care - one of our daughters had 2 children & adopted 5 another daughter has 3 children - out of all these children we lost a grandson to a accident 3 years ago. He was the only one who enjoyed hunting & fishing - He was to get the bulk of my collection. After his death I started selling off most of my firearm collection, had a huge quality adult air gun collection which most has been sold. It takes a lot of time to sell a large collection that has been put together over 30/40 years, unless you just want to give it away. I do miss some of the items that were sold but I did enjoy them while I had them. Here’s a pix of part of extended family. We have 6 children at home right now.Enjoy Tom

Just this morning on our way to school, my son (5) was playing a song on my iPhone. He asked, "Dad, when you're dead can I have your phone and all your knives?" :D

I told him yes, but truth be told, I hope to leave one or two knives to my great-grandchildren as well.

My son will get a few (when he is old enough), the rest will go to my daughter who loves knives and shooting ( Ok she is 8 so it could change, but I am trying to get the bug started early). Steven
