Who will they go to?

Well, I don't have any kids yet... but some day in the not-too-distant future I'm hoping to make one or two. They don't know it yet, but they're in for a treat. ;)

Moved to "General Knife Discussion" to accommodate the expanded subject matter and replies. Link left within "Traditional".

Personally, I plan to give away the ones that I would want friends to have and leave the others to be auctioned off to support the hobby.

Duncan good luck with your surgery and keep the faith. You'll be fine just keep a positive outlook on everything that happens.Keep us posted as to when your surgery is and your recovery.

Carl, I'm giving knives to my family as we go. The best is watching my father shine like a little kid in a candy shop every time he gets a new Case knife. My granddaughter recieved a Case 54 warnie trapper for her first birthday this past year in a shadow frame so she can't touch it until her daddy thinks she's mature enough .

My sons have already picked out their double side by side shotguns and my youngest took his first pheasant with his. You should have seen him grinning from ear to ear, what a sight.

No I'm not bragging,I'm trying to pass the simple traditions along and instill them as the kids grow so they have some sense of family values.

God Bless
Tracy

All of mine are gonna' be buried with me, because there is nothing scarier than a zombie with a bunch of knives and machetes.:D

My kids - and I will probably also let them pick before I am ready for the dirt nap.

I'm actually trying to slow down on the buying and carry a few of them regularly so they have more meaning.

Mine are earmarked for my nephew who is 16 now. He drools over all my gear and his first knife was a Christmas present from me. Now he gets a nice knife from me each Christmas. Someday, he's gonna get a whole heckuva lot.

I only got one. He's 8. He gets the whole swag in the end.

Duncan, here's to a speedy recovery, I look forward to reading your posts.

As for me, my two boys will get everything...guns, knives and the little things I keep in a cigar box. Heck, they're going to have a decent amount of their own soon. I have told them that it will all be theirs one day...but for now they're mine.

I need to get to work creating some offspring, then I can worry about who my knives go to.

I feel there should be a gallery where people can come and see these beauties and that's where mine would be going, for all to see and admire.

I have already given our oldest son the knives from my lil' ol' collection he was coveting (the military connected or G.I. issue stuff I'd collected: he's sort of a history buff).

So my small drawer of (civilian) pocket knives still in regular circulation or retired will go to our youngest son, when the time comes. He's the one who most shares my passion for steel and chemistry. He can distribute the ones he doesn't want among grandchildren as he sees fit.

It's not like I have anything exotic: just users mostly, now. Everything's in Estate and spelled out, for the successor managers...

My wife & I got married right after high school – talked about kids & decide to have them early & retire early – so we had 2 girls – so what did we do when we were 60 years old – adopted 4 kids out of foster care – we are now 64 & have 4 kids in high school – now all I have to do is work 7 day a week 12 hours a day & put them through college – but they are great kids – tom
