Exactly why I carry a micro keychain tool for the screwdrivers in a pinch. I don't need a big heavy multi tool. I'd rather carry a big blade. And I have tools in my truck.

I'm indifferent so I voted no. I don't really need more MTs. Leatherman gets my $ in this department most of the time anyway. I also fear the cost on a BM MT. No doubt it would be quality though.

Absolutely YES. I appreciate Bemchmades quality and customer service are exceptional in my experience to date. And USA, made in Oregon.

Their design aesthetics and attention to detail are great. To be honest, leathermans used to be higher imo.

I voted no as I still have the original wave and for me it is perfect. I keep looking at new MTs but nothing excites me enough to stop caring the wave.

Short of a full multi tool, how about a screwdriver/cap lifter added on. If a benchmade was the only knife I was carrying, sooner or later I'd probably be in dire straits for a screwdriver and having only a knife blade, would probably ruin the blade.

I think it would be a better choice if it was something closer to a Kershaw Shuffle than a leatherman. The reason being that Leatherman is really a premium offerer, and it's going to difficult to top them and their warranty, and still keep the knife at a competitive price. Keep in mind, Benchmade would probably have to buy new machinery to grind the parts, hand assembly would take more time and effort, and they would have to possibly hire some designers. I think that a small fixed blade style multitool would be a better choice, since they're easier to make and benchmade has already made a few products like them, like their breaching hawk (forgot the name). Also, I would like to see an expansion of Leatherman's pocketknife designs, with the available choice of screwdrivers that fold out like a SAK.

With Benchmade HQ so close to Leatherman, I think I'd like to see a collaboration of sorts between the 2. I've carried a wave nearly daily for a lot of years, and I'd love to see somehting like a wave, where one of the two "handles" is a dedicated axis locking benchmade knife or something similar.

That's an awesome idea!

How about taking the BM Triage, and replacing the seat belt cutter with a SAK cadet style flathead/bottle opener and small flathead/can opener, and seeing if the interest was enough to look at multi-tools more seriously?

Personally, I rather carry a separate multitool when possible... although that sometimes means not carrying a dedicated knife. That is usually when I'm traveling in other countries and worry about knife restrictions.

It would be way too expensive for me I am sure. But I vote yes. I'd love to see one.

Benchmade is in a good place. I think if they go down the same road as Gerber in as far as making knives, multitools, axes, machetes, everything and it's brother can easily cause everything to suffer

I said yes. I would like to see them make a very basic multitool. Pliers can-bottle opener Phillips flathead knife and saw. With wire strippers of different sizes worked in the frame.

I voted yes, I'd love to see one made. I'm sure it would be a great quality tool as long as it was made in the USA.
