Who would you pick and why???

You have to be teamed up with anyone of your own choosing...

You will be put into a "survival" situation----

and you get to choose who will be with you to assist you...

What survival expert would you choose and why???

The terrain is the one you like LEAST

If you hate cold( like me)--we will be in the Artic.(Like I said--this is a survival situation)

I think I would like to have Ray Mears at my side.

Seems like a man that would keep his wits about him..

And you???

*ALSO--IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING WORTHWHILE TO ADD--PLEASE DO NOT POST**

THOSE OF US WHO ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THIS SURVIVAL--- DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU THINK

My initial answer is Ray Mears as I believe he is in a league above nearly everyone else, however, I think I'd enjoy the conversations with someone like Dave Canterbury or Lofty Wiseman much more and this would keep moral up which very important in survival.

It would have to be Bear because he's not afraid of anything and he knows all the best places to stay :D

Of the celebrities Sir Ranulph Fiennes has the kind of charisma and expertise I'd be looking for. He has as similar outlook to me in that, “skills don't matter so much I can teach you that, what I can't do is change your personality”. [paraphrased from an interview]. Solid, stoic, down to earth, congenial team player. He never set himself up to be an expert or any of that crap, he was just doing good stuff and the world noticed his endeavors. .

The Terminator, from Terminator 2. I guess he would have to be programmed to protect me, huh?

"You just can't go around batoning with that knife!"
"Why?"
"What do you mean why, you can't!"
"Why?"
"Because you just can't, ok, trust me on this!"

Well, seriously, I hate the cold. I can't stand it. I would prefer to have an Alaskan native, or Lapplander, with me, who had been out in the bush, and knew what they were doing. I also hate the extreme heat, for that, I would prefer to have a bushman (no laughing ;)), or Aborigine, who also had been out in the bush, and knew what they were doing. I truly don't know if I would be able to survive either though.

The correct answer is Chuck Norris.:D

Or on a more serious note, since I'd least like to survive in a tropical environment, I'd pick Jeff Randall or Mike Perrin. That environment seems to be their specialty.

It would be either Les Stroud or Ray Mears. I like both for different reasons. I have met and talked to Ray Mears and he has a good sense of humor and some brilliant stories so for now he is my go to guy should I become stranded somewhere.

I wouldn't want to be stranded in the Jungle.. Not really sure who I would want to take with me, though. Probably either Ray Mears or Jeff Randall.

Thanks for the serious answers

It is said that a wise man learns more from a foolish question that a fool learns from a wise answer.

great Answer Pit:thumbup:

I've been watch Ray Mears' dvd series and I really enjoy his personality...I think he would be a great companion, especially to learn from. I would probably consider Les Stroud, just because I've seen how good of shape he's really in and he definitely would be able to pull his own weight. If I could pull some people out of history, Ray Mears presented some amazing explorers from the past...

If it was less serious, I really wouldn't mind hanging out with Bear Grylls...that would be entertaining and even though he does a lot of those "hey guys, watch this" type stuff, he really does seem to be a decent guy who earns a paycheck doing what most of us would love to be doing (minus the stupid stunts and eating elephant dung:barf:).
