Good day my friends.
I'm growing my knife making business as I prepare for retirement from my current full-time job. I will retire in a year from now. Time will go by fast so I'm setting my business to go a different direction from a hobby model to more commerical. I've been in contact with some local and regional retailers about selling through them some custom knives. One retailer has been more than helpful and is support my efforts. He has asked for pricing on an initial order of 72 mid-priced fillet knives. He has selected various handle materials and sheath style.
I need some help in sourcing blanks at prices more consistent that purchasing through ebay and such. This is an important step for setting pricing.
If anyone can recommend a wholesale blank distributor you feel is reliable and offers competitive bulk pricing I would appreciate hearing from you.

What about grabbing some steel stock and have them cut to shape via water jet?

You would have a choice of a rather wide variety of alloys.
You can also have your blanks cut close to your final dimensions.

I am not for sure any more but I believe that Hess Knives in Gladstone, MI has somebody make their blanks for them and then they put the handles on and finish them. Give them a call and ask who makes them.
