Whopper Chopper Wood Handle

The pins are very distinctive on that one. Nice! Handle looks comfy also. Is there a reason for the lanyard hold placement where it is? Just an unusual spot. Love the blade profile.

the pins are handmade mosaic.

the laynard hole was the only place i could put it.

Unreal hamon !!

thanks this is real tamahagane is not 1095 or some factory steel.

no acid etched. that is in the steel. you can get some color on the blade from use that is ok. then repolish it and it will come back. no on the surface stuff.

That's one very 'hen biao liang' bowie you got there. I would love to do some cutting with her.

Has zbsword solved the chipping problem?
Similar zbsword chopper was withdrawn from 2007 Shanghai Chopping Competition because of edge chipping.
High RHC probably is the drawback of chopper application.

master chen told me that the knife you are talking about was modified by the user after it left the shop.

the user felt it was not a thin enough edge so he ground it more. there also is some other factors that i can not go into here that contributed to the issue.

thanks the hamon was diffcult to make a photo of so you can see the hamon. it took me a long time to make that photo and get the light right.

Good looking!

sn't that similar to the ones you had at Blade? Is the handle a little longer on it?

it is the same knife but with wood handles. we had some customers that wanted wood and not micarta. so this is the request for them.

the handle length is the same. but with mosaic pins.
