Finally. I've been waiting for these to pop up on GEC'S production schedule. Still no details on the covers yet unless I've missed it elsewhere, but it with all the SFOs, it looks like there will be a lot of variety.

I had one before and its one of the few I regret letting go so I think I may need to go ahead and get one of these. Who else is in?

Already ordered mine in snakewood from Barry...his are going to be barlows by the way. All others will have a normal bolster.

I've ordered a 'Watch Pocket Barlow' in saw-cut tan bone. I'm glad Barry is doing a run of these, and they look like they're all going to be pretty spectacular, as I'm sure will all the Little Jack's.

Could you go into a little more detail on the bolsters? How does the barlow differ from the others? Sorry, I'm still fairly new to the traditional scene.

Here's the pre-production rendition of the upcoming barlow edition:

I'm thrilled that GEC is bringing the #25s forward, and especially look forward to seeing the barlows. The stamped blade on Barry's version is a special coup, but all the upcoming iterations are going to be sweet.

Of course. :)

For those of you bringing in the barlow and/or Little Jack version of these latest WLSTs®, I would love it if you would add your pictures and impressions here:

... And here again, for those unfamiliar with the term and its origins, is the etymology of the WLST acronym:

...what does WLST stand for? Seen it used a couple of times in this thread and can't figure it out.
Weird Little Stubby Thing

All royalties go to Pertinux who has the registered trademark.

Yes! It all started in Charlie Campagna's estimable thread, What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?, in which he presented scans of his traditional barlows of yore and then slowly but surely unveiled the on-going development of what would become the #15 TC Barlows.

When it was clear that new, 3.5" barlows were indeed the pipeline, puukkoman did say, and I quote:
I'm really looking forward to these, too. It's exciting to see GEC produce a REAL barlow, instead of that weird little stubby thing they've been making.

And off we went! So, Alex/puukkoman gets original credit, but as pmew notes, I jumped on the trademark right away. To whit:

Of these Weird Little Stubby Things®, I'm going with the one in the middle.

I´ve had a #25 in the past and it was not my cup of tea... somehow I didn´t get warm with the pattern.

But it was a practical knife ... IIRC ;)

Not in. My needs/wants in that niche are covered. Looks like a great little knife though.

One of the 1st GEC knives I bought was the 25 in spear point in 440 with EO notch and chestnut jogged bone. Beautiful knife but it just never grew on me.

I've seen photos of an EO stainless GEC #25 with a sheepsfoot blade and purple bone scales. No joy finding one yet, but I plan to stay on the lookout. The little barlows look great.

I'm going with the EO sheepsfoot little jack. I have several and love em. Perfect for everyday carry. I love Barry's barlow but already have several of those. The stamp on the blade is terrific.

Anyone know if the #25's are ever coming back in the 2 bladed, acrylic variety? Been looking forever for one of those at a decent price. All you #25 hoarders..(cough)... I mean, "collectors"... are killing my dreams lol :grumpy: :foot:
:D

Thanks Sarah for carrying over the picture.

Cannonball, the barlow will just have a longer bolster than the regular run 25's. Also as Sarah stated, the blades will be stamped with the logo rather than etched. Just gives it something different...more flair if you will.
