Who's getting a Little Jack or Watch Pocket Barlow?

No need to worry Armando, the 25's are just like that. I noticed it on my first #25 but then after looking at a lot pictures of them, you'll see its across the board that the spring sits higher than the tang.

Yeah, I honestly didn't see anything wrong with your 25. There are a number of GEC patterns that are "under bladed", this is certainly not a defect. If you search, I'm sure you'll find a lengthy thread discussing this :)

Oh really? I didn't know this...thanks Jake

It threw me for a loop also haha. Check out some of the pics on Collector Knives and you'll see it in the pictures that are shot looking down on the spine of the knives.

Sooooo, gonna keep it now!? The rosewoods are really nice. I'm debating between them or a bocote.

I don't know yet. I've sold some Case and Schatt & Morgan's for similar reasons. I just don't see the point of the underblade, it's not like it helps the aesthetics IMO. I guess I'll give it a few days and see if it wins me over.

And today, I ordered it's brother! A sheepsfoot Natural stag with the same serial number (also happened to be the best looking one on KSF, in my opinion.) :D:D

Just saw some finished yellow barlows on gec's site . Color looks a little light, I like it

Got this bad boy coming Friday to go along with my Che Chen spearpoint. It'll be my first Stag.

Fine jigging and pin-work on that one OMR!:thumbup:

My two new 25s arrived today after an 8 day sojourn in Customs.....:barf: No photos, too dark really.

Tidioute Spear in Red Micarta and Northfield in Chechen, very pleased, no gaps or play, reasonable tough pull but OK. The pin-work is not as good as some your example. I dislike the GEC tendency to have a sink-hole pin on wood or micartas, but not all of them have it. Bete noir of mine anyway.:grumpy:

Thanks, Will

Hi Will i took a peek at a Red Micarta LJ those pinholes would put me off too, but the finish on the Northfield range generally seems better. I always used to get a Tidioute as a user but this Little Jack comes close to perfection for me, it works as a worry stone, is comfortable to open, the blade copes with most of my daily
tasks and it has taken over from my Magnum as my coin pocket knife.
A wise old friend once told me "Never love something that can not love you back", I liked my Triumph Bonneville but i loved my H-D Dyna Super Glide and i love this little 25.

All the best OMR.

Thanks OMR:thumbup:

I've always found the 25 a really handy small, yet stout carry, I would like to see another issue of Drop point blades and felt disappointed GEC hadn't taken the opportunity with the latest release, it is a really nice blade style for this pattern and sits satisfyingly low in the frame.

Anyway, I snapped an indoor pic of my latest Pocket Brutes and despite my moaning about sink holes, the Red Micarta is handsome. The wood isn't too poor either...

Hi Will, that Chechen looks nice not so sure about Micarta, i bought a Talon in Micarta just to have an example in my little collection and was pretty lucky in the sink hole stakes, i did not carry it or the Acrylic scaled one very often although the jig bone one did and still does get carried.

I am really enjoying my new #25 LJ, i am not sure if it is just that the finishing is better on the Northfield version but it just sits better in the hand, other than my standard new knife ritual of "Washing the factory out of it" and giving it a drop of oil and a gentle touch up on the extra fine rods on the Sharpmaker and finally a kiss of Ren wax i have done nothing to it. The Tidioute #25 LJ i started by filing down the kick a little to lower the way the blade sits in the handle and then did the rest of my routine plus a bit of buffing on the polishing wheel to bring a shine to the frame and back spring. I have carried the Tidioute a lot and find the Sheepsfoot blade very useful in fact it and the Wharncliffe are becoming my favourite blade shapes, so why do i prefer the Northfield with its spearpoint blade, i think it may be the balanced feel in hand and of course it looks so goood.
