Who's got a J.W. Smith folder........

Art,
You should see the JWS/Les Robertson collaboration LDC-5. Talk about brawny and big build! I like them so much, I have TWO. I also have a polished CF scaled JWS with his hidden pivot pin. Wonderful craftmanship! NEITHER of them are recurves though and they are AWESOME!

PICTURES....PICTURES....I need to see PICTURES!

Boink I hope the carbon fiber overlays will add to the width of the handle a bit. Sorta like the wood inlays on my Classic Sebenza's.

Just traded for a J.W. Smith Vanguard Revolution and it came today, Thanks Dave!. Even though this is my third one and I knew he built them big, I was still WOWED when I unzipped the pouch. This is a KNIFE! It has a big, thick blade of S30V steel. It is 4" in length and at least 5/32" thick if not closer to 3/16". The cf handles are also thick and give you a real hand full to grasp. The fit and finish is fantastic. The cf handles are polished, along with the edges of the extra thick liners, as well as the full black micarta spacer. I don't know the weight but expect it is only a bit less than my Carson/Vanguard. You activate this one with a flipper that is part of the blade, no thumb lugs. The action is slick as butter. I have tightened the action since it came and even though it is still smooth it is a bit harder to open, but it is the way I like it to be.

The pictures of the J.W. Smith knives I see don't do the actual knife justice as far as it's size is concerned. The pictures always put me in a state of mind that the knife is smaller than it really is. This is a real tribute to the craftsmanship of J.W. Smith and the design genious of Les Robertson. Best thing is that there are only 5 of these out there and then the mold was broken:eek: ;) and I was able to get a hold of one!:D
