Hi guys,

This model has me really interested. You don't see a lot of folding Khuks out there (the CS Rajah is the only other I'm aware of) and I'd love to hear impressions from people that own one of these. I know it's not terribly big, but it is usable as a chopper? I'd love to hear some impressions. Thanks guys!

I have a Khukuri and I like it. It's an excellent slicer but I wouldn't consider using it as a chopper. It's similiar in size to a Delica. I rotate between the two. I mostly use my Khukuri to slice apples and to cut the tops off of water bottles for use as a sunflower seed spittoon. I am looking at my Khukuri as I type this. :D

The Khukuri has become my FAVORITE Spyderco! I love this knife. It makes a great EDC! It is not a chopper but the way you can move your hand up on the blade allows for many different types of holds. And it carries very well due to it's slim profile but then most Spydercos carry well. And I own about 15 or so Spydercos. You need to try this one.

Ok, so I just got it and I love this thing.
Fit and finish is among the best I've ever handled. Blade is perfectly centered.
The blade glides open ever so smoothly and you get a understated yet satisfying click when the liner lock snaps into place.
The knife is a bit smaller than I thought it was going to be - which is neither good or bad imo. Just thought it looked like it would be bigger from the pictures.
The knife FEELS thicker in the hand than it actually looks. It's quite thin which is nice. The liners are quite beefy.
G10 scales are quite grippy.
I love how everything lines up and this looks just as good closed as it does open.
Feels great in the hand - I haven't been able to put it down yet.

If I could change 1 thing - I'd make just a small cutaway in the non locking side scale/liner to make it easier to close the knife. The lock sits flush with the opposite scale right now-making it a bit difficult to unlock & close.

This is one of those knives that once you pick it up you can't put it down. I had reservations at first but now I love it. I love the way it seems to mold to your hand. And it is a real slicer with fine blade to edge geometry. This knife is real fine design and may be one of the best made knives I have seen.

Hmm...tempting, very tempting. It seems to be a model that is somewhat difficult to find. Does anyone know a nice shop online to get one? The one caveat is that they have to ship to Canada. Thanks guys!

I have to pick one of these up. Ed Schempp designs are odd but make complete sense when you actually hold them and use them. I lost my large Persian and oh-my-God do I regret not replacing it when I had the chance. I kept holding out thinking "I'll pick one up when I have a few more dollars" and then it got discontinued and now instead of $80 bucks NIB, it's more like $300+ and completely out of my price range. It was hands down my favorite folder of all time so I'm waiting for the Sprint Run to come out (in 2009-2010 I think Sal said), and buying at least two. In the meantime, this one will definitely be heading my way. I just don't like the Barong but I'm sure in a couple of years I'll be kicking myself in the head wondering why I didn't pick one up.
