You mean in its exterior frame backback. I would love to see the chop off. I will have to live vicariously through you all.

It's all about the edge. My TTKZ practically bounced off the log due to the fat edge. Much better after Garth reprofiled it; it was then about even with my reground CG NMFBM.
 
I don't know... when I look at the comparison pics, it's hard to imagine that few inches of the moab tip making that much more difference.. yet the WTF is MUCH wider.. but hey I'm bias...I have a wtf on order an never scored a moab..

No MOABM on that list Rob? First thing I'm doing when I get mine back is clearing a forest with it. I suspect that I'll show up, the trees see the MOABM and all fall over and split themselves..... It has been foretold....
 
I think it will give the MOAB a run, although I think Spydie has the idea as I think the thinner knives chop better overall in my experience.

Also, with a longer blade, those who chop will tell you that you don't use the end of the blade, you use a spot about 2/3 of the way from the handle to get the best chopping performance and reduce the shock felt from the blows, particularly on a hard well seasoned wood.

Since the WTF is going to be much heavier at the tip, I think it will have a larger sweet spot and reduce the felt shock.

However, one thing is sure; they are all beastly knives and it will be splitting hairs to tell which is the best chopper.

Now...where is mine??? ;^)

In my tests, the TTKZ beats the MOABolo. Maybe just me though,,,

I love the list. I'd order it a little different having owned all but the MOAB. I've had some of them in different flavors as well. This is my list for choppers.

1. Probably MOAB. Haven't tried it but seeing video comparisons makes me think it's at the top.
2. MOABolo
3. 1311
4. Battle Saw
5. NMFBM
6. ASHBM
7. TTKZ
8. CGFBM
9. FFBM

My guess is that the WTF would take third place and knock the others down a peg.

Despite what you've heard, I believe this is a case of length is better than girth...

MOAB keeps the crown.
 
A Moab at .340" would hold its own against a .340" WTF and a MOAB at .408" FFG would watch :cool::thumbup:
