Who's ready for a party tonight?!

I could use another smoke, but I will just have to get by with this dang gum:(

Oh, well....I will live longer:)

YUUUCKKKK!

I will never make that mistake again!:mad::barf:

I have started with Rye, but never gone back to it after a bourbon......

for a real good reason:barf::barf:

I have started with Rye, but never gone back to it after a bourbon......

from which to which and in what order?

heavily rye'd Bourbons (WT, Stagg, OGD 114, etc) aren't far from Straight Rye, literally. I often start with rye'd bourbons and work toward straight ryes in a single evening (and back, on occasion).

going from a wheated Bourbon (Van Winkle, Weller, Makers) or a low rye Bourbon (Four Roses, etc) to Rye, or the other way around, would be an abrupt difference for sure.

bottom line though is that it really depends on the exact whiskeys. Van Winkle Rye, for example, is very Bourbon-like and transitions to and from Bourbons quite easily.

obviously YMMV. ;)

also - keep some Oyster crackers around, they (along with a drink of water) help clean your pallet between different whiskeys (no matter which ones) and are a tasty snack once in a while.
