Who's the Hardest !

All jokes aside, Bear Grylls actually did recover from a nearly fatal and very close to permanently disabling parachute accident, to climb Everest just a short time after recovery.

His "antics" can be silly at times, but props for guts and willpower.

I'd like to see a new show with Myke Hawke and Dave Canterbury together, I think it would be cool to have 2 ex-forces guys figuring stuff out.

Heck maybe they could both bring their wives along to give it a twist !!!

DC is NOT ex Special Forces. He was not a Ranger, or a sniper, or Airborne qualified either...

I really dont like Hawke much, but he is an actual Green Beret so that makes him the "hardest" to me.:thumbup:

I never said Dave was ' Special forces ' just that he was in the forces ?

With what Dave did with the gunpowder on the wound I'd say he was ' special neeeds ' but I still think it would make for an entertaining show !;)

:) No ill will intended pit ....When you say ex forces and have one Special Forces guy in there, its a easy conclusion to draw. I just wanted to clarify that for people. Im exArmy, and was a Scout(another thing DC claimed to be which is false), and if someone lies about service it really gets under my skin and is unforgivable to me. I then will make sure there is no doubts about what he actually did when he is mentioned. Nothing lower then lying about military experiance IMO. Every generation of my family has served and some have died doing so. Thats why I get so bent out of shape about it....My info came from a solid source who got their info directly from the POW network.

Yeah I can understand how that gets ya back up buddy, same with Bear Grylls when he claimed to be in the SAS but was actually just in the reserves !

I think Les is a P@*!y, he backs out when things get hard and it seems as if he always has something in his bag of tricks that makes things easy for him. Dave on the other hand ( with the help of Cody) seem to work more off the land and do things that would really help in an emergency situation. Hawke was to busy making sure his wifey was happy and playing kissy face.

Myke, leave the old lady home.

As for Bear, he keeps me laughing, I could do without the stripping down all the time. and didn't he get cought sleeping in a hotel during the shooting of his show?

I hadn't heard about Canterbury, but just googled it after you mentioned it.

Crap, can't any of these guys just say "hey I was in the Army" and be done with it?

I'd respect them just for serving, no need to "puff up" their records.

Yeah I here ya man....What gets me is that none of the crap they lie about has any bearing on being a woodsman. I think wed have way better people on TV doing the survival thing if they let thier skills speak for themselves. I have a freind that knows DC and has been out with him in person for "training", and I use that word lightly. After talking with him for a few hours Im not impressed at all. Punji stick pits for killing goats, not knowing the differance between ticks and chiggers, rappeling in very unsafe manner, and on and on.......Thats not "hard" to me at all. Thats pretty stupid actually. I respect those who have served. In whatever form. However, when you lie about it, you just lost that respect from me.

Stroud is most certainly not a pussy either. He started the whole tv survival genre. Show some respect. At least hes not a lying poacher. Ray Mears might look like a pudgy insurance salesman but, hes my favorite by far. Hawkes batman voice makes me cringe, DC makes me want to vomit, BG cracks me up, and Cody Lundin lost alot of my respect by becoming a bi**h to discovery channels fake survival show...However, I still do have some respect for him. 98.6 degrees is one of the best survival manual out there.

If I was to say the Hardest, I still say Hawke. Hes one of the only ones that have actually seen combat, and Green Beret training is long, painfull, and no joke at all. That combined with his education, and other accomplishments makes him the choice for me. Even though I am not a fan of his shows, or his batman voice...lol
