In reguards to demagraphics is there a typical strider or sebenza owner. Not trying to start any wars here, just wondering who carries what.

Yes, we Sebenza owners dress better, are connoisseurs of the finest foods, and live in upscale neighborhoods.

The comparison is uneven, as the Sebenza is one knife model, with many variations, but Strider is an entire company, with fixed blades and folders. Sebenzas are so much better that the disparity is beside the point.

:p

Get a roadmap - this thread is going to go all over the place! ;) I now collect only small custom slipjoints, lockbacks, and art folders - but I also own, and carry, a couple of Striders and a couple of Sebenzas.

Anyone rich enough to afford one. I, for instance, EDC a pointy stick. (Actually, it's dull. . .can't afford a knife to sharpen it!)

I own/have owned both , Im a fiftysomething semi retired tradesman .

Chris

I use and carry both but the large Sebenza is my usual EDC and the Strider SMF is what I take camping hunting etc. in the field.

White Male 30+ financially stable and likes quality ,computer literate.
Drives a foreign car or a domestic truck ,a bit on the chubby side.

I did not mean to but other than the financially stable bit I described myself.

I don't agree that the typical strider or seb. owner must be rich. They just have to have disposable income. For example, any high schooler working 14+ hours a week at McDonalds can save up $400 in one month if they don't have any living expenses, especially if they can claim income tax exemption.

Truly, one cannot actually be considered to a "typical" owner unless you have a differently decorated Sebenza for each day of the week.

I mean, after all............

Here's one. "Likes quality things and doesn't mind spending the money to get them."

Call a Sebenza expensive all you want, and it is still cheaper than getting the "best of" most other things people spend money on.

I own an SnG , I don't carry it regularly because I work in an office and I usually carry a slipjoint.

I bought it because I like quality knives, if I could I'd buy a Sebenza too ( hey I got a kid in college :)).

Typical profile.... yes... I like knives, I like them all and usually can find beauty in anything sharp.
