whos the typical strider/ sebenza owner

In reguards to demagraphics is there a typical strider or sebenza owner. Not trying to start any wars here, just wondering who carries what.

Pencil necked geeks who haven't worked a hard days work in their lives who have more money than cutting needs? ;) :p

FU dagger. Just because you aren't smart enough to get a good job doesn't give you the right to knock us that are.:barf::thumbdn:

All in good jest Scott. I was joking. Guess the humor was missed. With all good humor there is a bit of truth though. I'd wager few Sebenza owners actually use them.... No matter how expensive a knife habit it is, or what the latest greatest, knife collectors get out cheaper than gun collectors who get out cheaper than auto collectors, etc.........

Drop $500 on a knife, is cheaper than $10,000 or $100,000 on a shotgun or $1,000,000 on some car. Knives are a great way for someone to collect, but not have to have thousands of dollars tied.

I've never seen a Sebenza. The most I've spent so far on a knife was $56, but I have a few that are worth $100 - $150. Slowly working my way up.

You stated that your obnoxious comment was supposed to be funny? Well, it isn't even the slightest bit funny. There is no need to put those of us down that DO buy & use Sebbbies.

You do not know anything about those of us that carry and USE our Sebenza's!! Why don't you try reading the CRK section here. I personally collect and USE Custom knives & CRK knives ONLY.

no, its just that i want to see one in action

as if that is so strange

so go cut something, film it and put it on youtube, ud have a primer :)

I also don't see the humor in the comment.

Well, I guess everyone has their own sense of humor, and sorry that mine doesn't fit yours. I guess at the end of the day, I got a chuckle, and that's all that really matters.

I didn't realize the typical Sebenza owner is so serious and humorless. I might be too if I'd dropped 5 Franklins on something a $20 Gerber could do, which is cut stuff.

You guys have a great and expensive knife. It's a masterpiece and a work of art. Don't worry about what people who don't have a clue say or think. I did go back and add a smilie to show I was kidding. My bad for not doing in the first place.

Also, regarding the humor, I did have a question mark to begin with, as shown by Rich357 quote of what I posted, so I was asking a question about Sebenza owners and not making an universal statement about them. A question can easily be answered, a negative comment directed towards a person can not, which is where my problem is. I should have made the question mark more pronounced and some of the readers should have read a little closer without getting riled. Again, should have added the emotions also, apparently.

Life is good. Don't worry be happy.

My apologies.

I do think it is strange to ask for a video of a relativley common pocket knife being used slicing tomatoes. How much different can it be from using a small kitchen knife?

Buy a Sebenza. Take some videos of you slicing tomatoes and other "exciting" stuff in the kitchen.

okay, if it is that damn difficult

...now i'm thinking they can't cut at all

and they are so common i've never seen one around here at all, if i ever do, i'll ask the poor sod who bought it, if the damn thing actually cuts!

Selfish.

Insulting.

Insulting, manipulative, and bitter.

Thanks alot.

compare it to a "fieldtest" for fixed knives

many around and many ppl find them interesting to watch

You've found us out. They don't cut at all. That's why we never use them.

It's just a pocket knife. How will it be noticably different cutting tomatoes than a similar sized, well sharpened Benchmade? Why waste the bandwidth?
Maybe no one cares about bandwidth these days?

A Strider / CRK (Sebenza) knife owner is thoughtful. I've known owners who are rich and poor, college educated and not, employed and unemployed, "white collar" and "blue coller" and no collar, men and women, young and mddle aged and old, black and white. What they ALL have in common is that they are thoughtful.

Buyers (well, users) of both have carefully done their research and picked the feature set that they needed

ok, it doesnt have to be tomatoes

i dont plan on buying a seb any time soon, but yeah if i did wanted to buy a specific benchmade, i'd like to see a vid of it cutting something

but its like that comment i made about the field test, field tests are usefull and interesting to watch

a still pic, or a full motion pic, there is allways a difference

one can see how it handles in a vid, one can see how it moves and etc.

hell, i could even compare real movies to cg, cg still looks severely fake because the object dont have good physical characteristics and that is shown in motion

i could go on, but pffff :jerkit:

"field test" says enough

Huh??

ahem

i ment compare it to comparing real world filming and cg

the physics engine of the cg objects is so insufficient to make it seem real, weight, elasticity and plain complexity are still way off the real thing

if you can differentiate those fake from real characteristics in moving pictures, then it is reasonable to assume one can get something by viewing a blade at work as compared to still pics of the blade, how it handles and etc.

If you slice a tomato in your kitchen with a small knife, folder or fixed, do you think
the visual experience would be noticably different than using a Sebenza?
