Hello all. New to the forum. I am an old knife maker, retired, turned collector.
On to the topic: who's your favorite German knife MFG? Hartkopf, Carl Schlieper, etc.
one reason I ask is, I have been picking up a lot of Hartkopf knives of late because most folks don't seem to show much interest or value for them. But I do!
Maybe due to popularity or some such nonsense. But it sure does regulate price fluctuation.

I'm not familiar with Hartkopf knives.

My favorite German knives are Bruckmann, made in Germany before WWII. Thanks to a large warehouse find years ago, and other caches of more recent discovery, they are common enough to build a decent-sized collection today. Some of the "warehouse" knives were reportedly parts only that were assembled by another company.

I'm also a big fan of the traditional Boker Solingen-made pocketknives with carbon steel, an excellent value for the money.
