Whose knives appreciate ?

Gentlemen, please let's not leave out the origional Al Mar's that are selling for 4-5 and even 7X their list price. Ospreys, Falcons, Hawk etc. have gone through the roof. An abalone osprey that sold list for $55, in the late '80's can easily get to $250, sometimes $300, if NIB Al Mar has brought it back, and there are two serial numbered versions in tiger and applewood coral that I suspect will increase somewhat in value. BTW the ivory micarta models are the only ones that CAN'T be "ressurected" for lack of similar quality material. As for our everyday user Spydies, BM, etc. it doesn't look good in terms of appreciation. Even Reeve's knives don't hold up in the aftermarket unless they are VERY special.

I wish we could get more opinions on this subject.

Thank you.

I have a Jimmy Lile Deathwind Military #27 that I paid $350 for. The last gun show I went to a guy had a higher serial number for $700.

Steve Ryan Biohazards often sell for 3-4 times what they actually cost from Steve.
Emerson customs cost 2-3 times what Ernie sells them for.
Strider folders have a pretty decent secondary market value as well.
