I have a hunting knive that has an about 1/4 inch wide "brand" impressed deeply into the blade near the hilt. The mark has an S in the center, the brand, S and all is leaned back ( to the left )about to a 60 degree angle. This is an almost 4" bladed, almost 8" overall knife. Stag or deerhorn full handle, no crown, with a turquiose ringed in tooled silver flatly imbedded in the butt. The handle is pinned on with 2 brass pins, hidden hilt, and a brass single guard. I think the drop point blade is forged.
Would like to know maker and value.

Anyone know or have a guess?
Someone tell me it's Scagel.

Now surely you can"t resist a statement like that!

Sounds like a maker I have seen out of Texas. Don't remember his name unfortunately. The maker comes from fairly down south if I remember correctly.

Hope this helps,
Sid
