Why 3 fullers on handle?

Dumb question I know... I tried to do a search here for an answer, but I have always been curious as to why there are 3 fullers on some knife handles? (The 2 examples that I own with this design feature are a PDW Invictus, and a TAD Gear Dauntless MK 4).

I decided to enlist your thoughts on this after I watched a YouTube video by Jim Skelton where he mentions the "underscored with 3 famous lines, 3 famous fullers marked into pretty much everything knife wise..."
I know I am really overthinking this, but I figured if someone had a few thoughts to share on this, I would enjoy reading about it.

It's TAD trademark, so they put it on every knife. PDW was started by a former TAD employee, hence the similarities. I believe PDW had to change it to 4 fullers though.
