Why are most Spydie Goddards combo edged?

I just received my first Spydie Goddard from New Graham (burgundy handle). I know from reading BF posts and from comments Goddard has posted elsewhere that nearly all the Spyderco-Goddard collaborations are combo edged, but I can't find an explanation why..?

That how they first came out, I think it was because Goddard wanted it that way. When the PE was introed, those who had the CE ones learned to like them and never turned back. At least that's what I remember from an article Goddard wrote for Blade
