Hi I was just wondering why they are so expensive now?
Also where can I get one for $110 or less because I love my current one and want another for a good price and not a crazy price

In December I got a great price on Amazon and also the S35VN version off Bladehq. Since then I haven't seen a deal anywhere close to those. Spyderco is either playing games with the supply/demand or they are truly low on supply. I tend to believe the former...

I do not think Sal and crew are making less of them to drive up cost. What I do think is the Golden plant is running at its max which is why they are expanding it. If people complain to much they will start making them over seas in Tiawan most likely which will sadden me because then it will go on the list of great Spydercos I will never own.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Why would that be a problem?

because then they would cost $300 instead of $100

They would acutally cost less if they were made in Taiwan. I just refuse to support outsourcing and will be happy to pay more for an American made product. Its why I dont own a Sage yet, I think it might be one of the best small EDC knives on the market but until it is made in Golden I wont own one.

This is exactly how I feel too but don't let them drag you into a discussion about outsourcing. People get all weird about it on here and then the mods will get after you.

They are "the" knife of the moment, Isaac, so everyone wants one. This too shall pass. And another knife will be "the" knife everyone wants.

You're seeing Sprint, or limited runs that cost more than the regular one's. They are more when they first come out, and go up even more price on aftermarket sales.

Just keep your looking at the online stores. They'll get more plain ones in, and they will be at regular price. They sell pretty quick, and it takes a while before they get more, so check often. They will be back though.
You could also keep an eye on the sale forum here for a plain black(or camo) one. They come up every now and then at a good price.

I can u derstand wanting to buy American, but buying one of their import items is still putting money into Seal's pocket, which he uses for supply and expansion of domestic products. Where it is made makes no difference. Who makes it is all that matters.
