Why are Randle knives highly praised?

I believe part of the allure of Randall Made Knives is not only the history, but the fact that you can order it in any combination imaginable. Type of steel (stainless or carbon) blade shape, length, handle shape and material, butt plate, butt cap, or compass in the butt, shape and material of hilt, etc.... You can even have your name etched on the blade. This fact makes the Randall not only custom... but custom to YOU.

In short, a Randall is an heirloom quality item that you can be proud to pass on to your kids. Sure, I have knives that hold a better edge. A $20 Casio keeps time better than a Rolex... but which one is synonymous with quality.

Randalls are beautifully crafted knives... every man should own at least one.

For me it is all the history behind RANDALL knives. It is the quality that goes into each and every Randall knife. A little of Bo Randall goes into each knife. It is all that Randall knives knives stands for.

This is IT for me, too. But then, T.K.C. and I have a fair amount in common.

Haven't done it yet. But I will.

I get to Orlando a fair amount...maybe I should drop by and snoop about?

American history, tradition...knives are part of that and Randall holds a special place in this regard. Probably why I also like the work of Dan Winkler (like might be too mild a word!).

That is a part of the reason for their popularity. Folks can make a good return reselling them. History is definitely another reason. I personally prefer the older Randall knives to those that are being produced today.

Oh, yes! I would definitely prefer an older Randall.

And, I'm actually looking amongst my rather large, extended family for one. Amongst the many, many Italian-Americans and Italian-Italians in my large family...someone must have an extra Randall from the 'old school.'

Scagle inspired Randall. Randall inspired Loveless. Loveless inspired a whole custom and Manufacturing industry. And here we are discussing custom knives. With out these fine gentlemen, we wouldn't be here on this forum at all. No Customs. No guild. No high end collectors. And even though if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand anyway, with out these leaders in their time, you wouldn't be asking the questions here at all. Get it?

Oh, yes! I definitely get it... :)

All true of the history of the knife but you just have to assume no one else would have made a knife, no one else could figure it out and I do have my doubts...
