Why are SHOT, the LVCKS, and the ABS RENO show running concurrently?

There's also an invitation only show that weekend put on by Dave Ellis and Ed Wormser, $100 to walk through the door, kinda run like the AKI show. Wont be at that one:D
Awwww, Dave. After a lucky evening at the parlors, money will be flowing like water out of your hands. :) What's a simple $100?? :(

That would be the show I was referring to.

For those into outdoors, Reno has one of the few outlet stores for Patagonia rejects. It's a great way to get good quality technical gear at a lower cost than normally.

WWG, no I think that's still correct @ $150. It was dropped from an initial offering of $200. Here is the information that Ed Wormser forwarded me on the show:

Las Vegas Tactical Invitational

The show is based on the same format as the AKI Show and the Plaza Cutlery show.

Knives will be purchased either via a drawing, a closed bid, or an open bid.

The difference between our show and the other two invitational shows is that our show is for tactical knives only. As you know, at many knife shows, the tactical knife makers are so "hot" that they have a drawing at their table rather than sell their knives. We decided to take all these "hot" makers and create a show just for them.

We invited 9 of the top tactical makers in the world and each knife maker will have between 5 and 10 knives. So I estimate that there will be 60 to 70 knives.

The show is at the Four Seasons Hotel, food and liquor will be served.
The show is scheduled for Friday night, January 28, from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. so as to not conflict with any other show in Vegas at the time,

You are correct in that this show is not being promoted like Chicago.
It is by invitation only and we want to limit it to 100 guests.

We still have openings so we probably should put on a last minute blitz to get some more attendees. So, anything you can do to help spread the word will help.

If anyone wants to attend tell them to contact me by email or phone (847 757 9926). Email Ed Wormser

We would love you to participate if it fits your criteria.

Sincerely,

EW

....LV is better than LA!......

Not from where I was sitting this morning, Murray! :D

(I'm back in Toronto on Jan. 10, and then off to the Vegas show on the 25th, I think. Let me know if you and Phyllis are going.)

Well, I will be attending the Little Rock show for sure. I agree with a few other posts in here, too many shows at the same time.

A mans wallet has to have time to recuperate!

Hope to see alot of forumites there.

While it is unfortunate that there is so much going on on the same weekend there may not have been a solution to the problem. The showrooms that are booked for these things are usually in high demand and it can be near impossible to arrange dates to make everybody happy.

Randy I guess you'll have to pick up your Drs. Knife at the Eugene show since your not going to be in Vegas. :D

Hey Guys
Just to clarify the LVCKS no longer exist. That show was bought out by Beinfield Productions who has done the Antique arms shows in Las Vegas for several years. Beinfields is calling it the Las Vegas Invitational Knife Show. It will be in the same room as the Antique Arms Show and the International Sporting Arms show. Its been my experience that the LVCKS was always better the years it was held while the SHOT Show was in town. The knife show has been expanded to 250 tables this year and its my understanding that a ticket to one is a ticket to all. Since most knife folks are gun folks too it should be a great value, Knives old guns and new guns in one room. I spoke to Mr Beinfield in Phoenix in Nov. and he is excited about the knife show. He related to me that he wants it to be even bigger in the future.
By the way for what its worth I`ll be there also.
