Why Baton a folder?

However many people don't realize that you can baton with a folder without locking the blade open, and by having the blade half way open while batoning not stressing the lock face.

These manufacturer tests make sense to me.

They do to me too, and they are impressive. Honestly surprised the sand didn't cause any issue and watching both lock pressures test made me cringe the whole time. Thanks for posting that AC.
