Why Bother Finding Accessories for the M1A?

I'll be darned. I finally did it. I cropped them, but still not sure exactly what's going on.

The concrete wall behind the rifle is the retaining wall built all around the house on 3 sides. That's why I like calling it the munk compound, on top of my well noted bunker mentality, of course.

Hopefully, a couple more:

Caption one: "Could I have another 20 round mag with my sandwich?" or, "that isn't moving, is it?"
Caption two: The selector switch cut out was filled by Springfield Amory. The barell is a winchester. In the beginning, the assembled rifles from military parts. Not sure what they do now.

No, photobucket will automatically resize them, and you can paste them directly into your posts using html tags: "
" (leave out the "", photobucket already gives you the correct links so you can just copy & paste)

Edit: Photobucket will likely be better at resizing pictures than you (no offense) leaving them bigger in size but with less quality to take up space (kb)

It'll look like this:

I just cropped them myself; thanks Keno.

I'd like to say thanks to everyone who put up with my resistance to the computer and helped me all these months. Andy, 45/70, Jake, and to Steve Ferguson for writing very clear instructions which though still were not able to penetrate the entrenched fear of my brain, none the less were the key to getting through.

Lost one, put it back up:

....that wing was dreamed up to control muzzle rise during auto fire. It flips and secures itself on top of your shoulder. I doubt very much it worked very well. Underneath are the standard buttplate with the trapdoor leading to cleaning supplies.

Are M1A's today sold with this wing? I don't know.
Just checked SA; yes they are still part of the rifle.

Fall picts and mag bag;
I want a digital camera. I'm using a dig movie camera which has very little memory devoted to still picts. And as you can see, sometimes focuses on God KNows What instead of what is right in front of it.

mag bag cost 30 bucks or so. I think it's the right one for the M14.
Just shows you how far 'collecting' compulsion can take you, but not far enough for me to spend 3000 dollars on the SOC COM

I'm still learning. It didn't show up.
edit- still won't.

I'm still a grasshopper, alright. Where'd Master go?

last picture, will it be here when I press OK?

What a great relief to be able to post picts at last. I can review without worrying about the pictures showing up. I dont have to aggravate my friends with requests for help. And my willingness to take pictures has just gone up a hundred fold.
Is there anything anybody wants to see of the munk compound and surrounding environs? I can do it now. hooray.

Nice pics and nice M1A Munk. There's just something about a full size battle rifle tipped with cold steel...;)

How many magazines can that pouch of yours carry, anyway?

Bob

8 20 round mags. 160 bullets. 20 more in the rifle and that's 180 for a Marine.
I've got four M1A mags I keep out for use, and I think three more in their wrappers in cosmoline.

Has the price of M14 mags dropped since the expiration of the assault weapon ban?

It was my impression it had not.

Congrats on the pics Munk!

as I recall, the flip up thingy helped with full auto fire on the M60, esp. when one was behind it shooting from the bipod for extended periods.

Munk,
I think Armalite has USGI 20rd mags for $25. I've bought a few and they work good. Better get them before they run out again.

I have a plain Jane Springfield M1A/M14 with walnut furniture. Think it is what they call the Scout flavor - not sure. Shortened barrel with rail on top. Have a red dot and tripod on it. Great gun that really packs a thump.
