why buck

As a kid the men in my family that I was around all carried Buck knives. I had a few my self growing up and have always felt that they were good knives.

Buck has the best customer service of any knife company out there. Enough said from me.

One of the best maybe but BUCK is not the absolute start & end of all.
I will never ask customer service for warranty issue for such cheap products.
In fact i been really disappointed with 3/3 of the 2007 buck knives i bought.
A 119 with loose gard
the same for a 120
And a 110 AG with blade play.

Really i had bought enough Buck knives for life.
& i had sold them for nearly nothing.

In 1977 I bought a Buck 112 from a buddy of mine in high school. It did not have a sheath, but I only paid $5 for it. I bought a 110 in the early eighties, around the year 1984, for hunting. I have dressed a few nice bucks with that knife. I was reading on these forums that in those days the blades were made of 440c. At least the one from 1977, the other from '84,I am not sure.

Rick,

Your 84 was in 425m a steel I have come to appreciate a great deal of late. Do you still have it?

Varulv, I fail to follow this logic especially since you say you chose to sell those Bucks for next to nothing. If you'd sent them in, they would have been fixed or replaced with knives that met your expectation all at no cost to you other than shipping back to Buck. Your story sounds like more of a tale than a personal experiance.:yawn::yawn:

I forgot, I also bought a beautiful limited edition Buck Lancer in jigged bone. It has a limited editen emblem in the handle scale. It is a real nice little folder. It is one of my favorite knives.

Yes I do. I have the 112 too. I almost forgot my little Lancer, as I have just posted. What a prize, that knife. I have been looking at some small Buck folders in stag. I like the smaller jack knives. It's just a preference, but I have no problem with big jacks either.
