Why buy a 600$$ knife ?

I love knives but will never buy a $600+ blade...guns, yes, but not a knife. Too many great options out there below that dollar amount imo. That said, I've got no problem with people who do spend that and more on blades...it is an illness after all :D

I would trade you my guns for your knives.

IF you had any that are comparable price range

I would beg to differ, their is a HUUGE difference between an Chevrolet Camaro and a Ferrari
I don't buy $300 knives for same reason I won't buy a Ferrari. The price difference between sebenza and delica or a Ferrari and a Camaro isn't worth the slightly better performance

Unfortunately cheap things are cheap for a reason.

This goes for knives and just about any produced product in the world.

Sure some things may demand a premium price because of the name or pedigree but they didn't get that name or pedigree by making cheap stuff.

At the same time, people that buy expensive stuff and not use it or baby it, like a watch, knife or car in reality can't afford it.

I love knives like I'm sure everyone on this forum does. Why would I wanna buy a sebenza etc..., or a strider? So in general what makes those knives be worth that when I can by several high quality knives for the price of one of those ? I like the designs and the steels they use for those knives and I like the fit and finish. When I can also get that in a cheaper knife that won't cost my marriage. Please give me your take on this matter maybe I can be won over .

You buy the $600 knife because (1) your heart says you have to have it, and (2) you hopefully have the money to pay for it without neglecting more important expenditures.

Because the $700, $800 and $900 knives were out of stock?... ;):D:thumbup::p

I lol'd:thumbup:

Buy the knife that you like and can AFFORD!!!

I have for example, never found a multi-blade custom slipjoint under $500.00 that performed as well as say a nice GEC or Queen....but when getting closer to the quality of a Pena or Ruple for $1,000.00 the differences in steel, heat treat, construction, materials and performance are triple that of the factory knives, at least in my experience, and that makes it good value!

When you are THAT addicted to this crazy hobby, $600 seems marginal. Think about your personal collection: most of us have at least six knives that we've sunk $100 into. Or what about those custom Case knives? And the vintage Buck 184 that you just had to have?

Different people have various levels of what they want to spend. To each his own!
