Why buy a Sebenza with handle inlays?

You all have mentioned several things I had never even thought about. I'm actually pretty excited about the inlays now. I just ordered a 25 with micarta inlays to start with. I have several 21 variations and only a single 25 so it felt right as my first inlay model. It should be here by the end of the week. I can't wait to check it out now.

The inlays give it a rounded, traditional feeling. Also, they age well and class up an already regal knife. I have the Micarta. So I can only speculate about wood inlays. There is a post somewhere around here about daily carry of a wood inlayed one. It went well. Overall, I'd say it's something that one should go for as long as they like the look. You won't be disappointed.

So I checked my birth card on my Large XX Classic Micarta……. 2005 ,,, does that mean it's too rare to EDC…??!!!…. Shucks…..

@bart1: Use it, makes it more interesting, adds character to the knife.
I too have one born in 2005, OK I put it to immediate use. When I take it up it brings memories to me.
It does have some scratches, but that makes it mine.

The inlays do look nice!
But what my Seby sees on a regular bases. I don't think it would be good for the adhesive used to secure the panels.
My BG-42, regular Lg. Seby is used to dress game(lots of blood)to removing gasket material(oil and fuel)to be'n a great steak knife.
It is my EDC, and has been for many years.

I wouldn't worry about that, I have never heard of any inlays coming off. they are pretty much on there permanently

Well, when you leave it soaking in everything from engine oil to aviation gas & Nitromethane drag fuel.
To say nut'n of blood-n-guts(wash it with my other skin'n knives).
Just don't what the scales to be saturated with those chems, to say nut'n of kill'n the adhesive panel used to adhere the inlay to the handle.
Yeah-My Seby is a work'n knife--LOL
Have 2 CRK's-BOTH are worked hard.

I'm an inlay guy too, have three with micarta (21, Insingo, 25) and three without (old pivot and new pivot Zaan, new pivot Wilson Combat Startac) and overall I prefer the micarta inlaid ones.

Top dog for me is the 25 micarta. Until I saw mine in person at the knife shop there is no way I'd have made that statement, I thought it was butt-ugly from the pictures. Then I saw it in the case...

Not anymore!

The micarta 25 arrived today. Initially I really like the feel of it! The more I look at it the more I like the looks of it too. It does have a different feel compared to my plain 25 -- I wouldn't say I prefer one over the other yet. I do very much like that they're different though. I'm going to carry it for a while and see if my feelings change. I'm already thinking about the next 21 variation to start looking for with inlays. :D

I can only have inlays. I was almost going to buy a plain slab, but couldn't do it. Though I want a nuked or stone washed one.

It has been spoken, knives with inlays have better edge retention and sharpen up like a razor. But they look and feel cool too.:D
