Multiple reasons I suppose...
Here are a few of mine:

1.- I work hard for my money. Very hard. To me BK&T represents a tremendous value. When you compare the dollar to preformance ratio, they're really tough to beat. 1095 cro-van steel with incredibly comfortable handles.

2.- They're made by KA-BAR right here in the USA. I've seen how KA-BAR treats their customers and I've been thoroughly impressed time and again. They're a company I can stand behind.

3.- Ethan Becker is one of the most knowledgable, kindest, and most gracious human beings on the planet. I enjoy his designs. He's always a pleasure to talk to and just an all around great guy.

So let's hear it.

Same here, brother. Ethan's knives just work, and work well. Plus... He's a great guy. I'm hooked for life.

good designs, usually a good heat treat from KaBar, using a good steel that quite a few other companies also use, but charge 2-3x as much

so, not bad...

Here, here on all of the above.

In addition, despite my expensive habits and life-pursuits burn rate, I am a utilitarian guy at heart. I like my things rugged, reliable, durable, functional and not "blingy." I also embrace value, which is not inextricably intertwined with price.

When you take the truths espoused by Johnny along with my personal preferences, it's easy to see how I became a Beckerhead.

Honesty, integrity, and the willingness to make things right with his customers. Even though the issue may not have been his fault.

How many times have we sen Ethan hand over his personal knife to someone who just broke theirs? How about him posting his phone number and asking the customer to call him to make things right?

Also, you guys. Every single Beckerhead I have met, talked to online, talked to on the phone, or does business with has been hands down awesome. This sort of attitude and mindset starts from the top (Ethan) and has obviously trickled down.

Jeremy

Agree to all of it. I just ordered a new BK-5 for around $60 and i can't believe you can get that much knife for that amount.

This. Becker knives are not the absolute very best knives on the planet. I don't mean that as a critcism. I have more Becker knives than any other. If I recommend a knife to a friend, it's a Becker. They are solid, dependable, quality knives. We are just all fortunate enough to live in a time where there are tons of incredibly amazing knives being made. What there aren't tons of are people who treat customers like Ethan Becker does. Quality man behind a quality knife.

4. The BK&T subforum and it's members.

Yeah! I really think the forum and followers tend to emulate their leader or at least about the same spirit and demeanor as the leader. Some other forums are a little rougher around the edges, but even though I kind of burst onto the scene without a proper introduction I felt welcomed and valued even before I knew what crovan stood for or what a tweener was.

I'd second the value of all of Uncle Ethan's knives, but especially the thoughtful design that came from years (decades?) of experience. Seriously, the first time I saw the bk9 on the Kabar website I knew I had to have it. Once I got it in my hand I finally understood all the well deserved hype over the Becker handles.

I love Beckers because the fact they they are American made, and more so that they are 50-100$ knives that run the gauntlet with 100-300$ knives. They are amazing quality for the money I want to spend for a tool. Being able to easily customize them without the fear of ruining something I've invested a ton of money into is also nice. Even if there's a weird stain on my blade or a scratch or nick that doesn't seem to look right at first, I quickly grow to love it and it becomes MY KNIFE. Ethan puts passion into every detail he manifests in his work and it's great that everyone appreciates those wonderful details.

I'm mainly in it for the chili and the pork loin. Cheese grits were just a bonus.

I buy them because I know for a fact I can depend on them. Used a 9 in extremely wet, humid, and coastal (salty air ruins a lot of carbon knives) almost daily for 2 straight months and along with my ILBE, it was just as tough as a tank full of rocks. Couldn't ever ask for a better blade. Except maybe a light saber.

In 50 years I'll buy a light saber and put Becker scales on it haha

Lightsaber you say?.

Quality and good designs at a fair price. Plus a man that stands behind his products. I view my Beckers like my cast iron. If treated properly they will last a lifetime. This group has also helped me learn more about knifes in the year or so I've be lurking than I knew in the 37 before that.

I named my dog Becker. 'Nuff said :)

Really, for me it's
1. Feel/ergos/balance
2. Customizable blades
3. Ethan Becker
4. Use 'em, a use 'em...doesn't phase them one bit
5. Beckerheads

For me it starts with the name - Becker Knife & "Tool"
I have been teaching my son that Knives are "Tools" and I believe that Mr Becker follows that philosophy. Each BK are true workhorse's.
Then there are the enablers here, that call themselves Beckerheads. A great bunch of folks that know a whole ton of stuff about Knives.
And the kicker is the value. Every Becker I own is worth twice what I paid for them.

I couldn't agree more. Perfectly said.
