The importance of customer service/customer relations cannot be overstated here, thankfully I have not had to take advantage of KaBar/BKT customer services, but from the stories I've read, I know it wouldn't be an issue
I have a very short list of companies with excellent CS, and it's one thing that will determine if I purchase more from them...
Gold standard CS
Ruger
SUreFire flashlights
Spyderco
Apple inc.
FitBit
To use FitBit as an example, sure, there are "better" fitness tracker bands, and fancier ones, but the FB is a good, basic, utilitarian tracker, but what sold me on their product was my recent CS experience with them
I bought a Charge about a month ago, from an outlet store, didn't pay full price, due to damaged packaging, but the device itself was fine, a couple weeks ago, I damaged the window over the display, unit still worked fine, just had a small crack near the edge
I called the company, described the problem, asked if I could purchase a replacement window, because I broke it, it was not a manufacturing defect...
They had me email them a pic of the damaged area, and a copy of the proof of purchase, and about a half hour later they emailed me saying they were sending a replacement, they just needed the size, I told them it was a large, but I would be willing to pay to upgrade to an XL, as I was on the last two holes with the LG, and what address do they want me to send the bad one back to?
Their response?
We'll upgrade you to the XL, no problem, and you don't need to send the cracked one back, that's why we just needed the pic and proof of purchase
Excellent customer service there
Oh and to bring the subject back to Becker...
Chopping with a BK4 is an easy way to "cheat" the FitBit step count, both Chopping and batoning count as "steps"
