Why can't I use the search feature and find old threads?

Well I guess the title sums it up...Earlier today I used the search feature to look for a thread in the Blade Discussion Forum and it wouldn't come up! Seemed to me that only threads posted here recently would come up. I did specify any date so it should work, right?
 
Gene, depending upon how long ago the thread was posted, it may be in the "Year 1" forum. To date I have not had any problems accessing old threads as long as I was looking in the right place. Hope this helps-

I am relieved to hear that I am not the only one having problems here.

I know what I am looking for and I know where it is (or where it used to be), but it just won't come up for some reason. The thread in question is one that I posted to and when I pull up my profile and click on the "Find all posts for this registered user" only 28 will come up.

So guys what's the deal? Are Mickey and I crazy? If so, what are we doing wrong?

Please enlighten us!

I've had the same problem as Mickey and Gene. I posted but didn't get a moderator to answer the question.

The same question was asked in Tech Support and the reply was that Spark was not able to find out what went wrong.

I also cannot find almost anything in Blade forum Ist year - esp. 3&4Q of 1999.

And if I put Search for my username I get only 3 links.

The search will limit itself to one forum. So if you look for only your posts and you have say 150 total and only get back 25 what you are seeing is that you have 25 posts in that particular forum.

Mike, I think there REALLY IS something wrong. Since all the problems last Friday, the search function finds that I have made ZERO posts in in the general forum. EVER. You can search it by username, or text, or title, but I can't find anything I ever posted by searching.

Please look into this problem further. And thank-you for this Forum, glitches and all.

I searched "Mike Turber" in Blade Discussion Forum and got only 12 links. I was searching for that thread with "free trademark search for ...." and got -0- zero.

Doesn't this belong in Tech Support? (Hint, Hint)

This is not something to panic about. Something obviously has happened to search index, corrupting it. One of the hazards of having a large forum.

I'll reindex the forums, we'll see what happens.
