Why carry a knife ?

Awesome, thanks for posting. I love seeing articles about knives that don't involve a stabbing, and who doesn't love whales?

Imagine that, the article came from the KNIFE UNFRIENDLY U.K. At least it was a positive article, and not another Knives are for criminals type thing. I'm 54, carry more than one knife (and a multi tool) on me every day. Been doing so since before I was 10 years old. Carried one with me to school all the way through my senior year (switchblade as well, LOL) The only blood a knife of mine has ever seen is my own. Not very often either. LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!

I'm am mid-50s as well, and I remember sitting in home room in high school, checking out each others pocket knives, with the teacher looking right at us, no questions asked. Times have definitely changed.

Kind of ironic that the Spyderco whale rescue knife is made in Japan, one of the few nations who still harvest whales commercially.

Thanks for posting this. I'm really sick of hearing about stabbings; it's wonderful to read an article, especially from the UK, showing something positive knives can do.

So great to hear somthing positive about knives, thanks for sharing this!
