Why D2 for the Izula Folder?

Well all I saw was you asking if it was D2, and someone  but nothing that Jeff or anyone else said that it was going to be D2. Not that I really care. If it is D2, I'll buy one. If it is 1095 I'll buy two. :)
Ok, maybe it wasn't in the thread but it says this on the page that I linked:

"Patterned after our extremely popular Izula fixed blade, the Izula Folder will have a folding D2 blade, frame lock construction and pocket clip. All made in the USA! This knife is not being manufactured at this time. Please keep a check on this web site for updates. We expect deliver in late 2010. At this time we do not have a price point or additional spec to disclose. Photo below is a concept design made by Tom Novak. Specs, and colors may change slightly with actual production models."

Yup, someone point that out to me, I looked at the thread/link the first time I was soooo bedazzled by the picture I missed the description under it.. you know me, easily distracted by sharp objects.. :)

I've had to rusting issues with my D2 knives. they hold an edge well and are easy to sharpen.
for a folder I'd prefer D2 over 1095.
