Why did i wait so long?

Nice find and nice Bucks. I know that area you live in all too well having moved from the county just below yours in 1976. Yeah the bad one or at least it was back at that time. Since then I've been able to wear, carry, pocket and use a Buck any time I damn well please.

Sounds like you're on your way to a bunch more Bucks, and it is really nice to know you're using one as a daily work mate. Pretty sure we'll see a lot more of you around here.

Yessir. Got cops all around, just looking for a reason to give people a hard time and sheeple ready to help them out if you seem to be in any way too prepared. Ah well. What can you do?

Thanks man. Im very happy i picked these knives up. Makes me wonder what the hell i was paying so much for from other companies.

I've got a bunch of Bucks, many of them are 112 sized blades but older 424s, Bucklites, Paperstones, a Jim Shockey in S30V that was a web special for real cheap, etc. I use them a bunch for fishing, hunting, and carry. Funny, because I picked up a 112 with finger grooves about 6 years ago, and it has hardly been out of the box. Since reading your post I dragged it out and put it on my belt. Plan on carrying it for a while.

Your description of that area of the country brought back some unpleasant memories. "What can you do?" I'd suggest moving. I left in 1976, probably why I'm still alive.

Maybe farther down the line i will. Unfortunately its not in the cards right now. Both mine and my girls families live in the area. Not to mention the money issue. Either way, im glad youre giving that 112 some use.

Just wanted to show off the sheath i got in the mail the other day:D

I forsee in your near future a Buck 301, 303, 389, ... just a ... "small" ... collection of their classic slip joints to co-carry with your 112. :)

Fishcakes, I know the area! Bergenfield, Tenafly..... My grandparents lived in Tenafly, and as a kid I used to walk to downtown Bergenfield on Riveredge Rd. But that was the early '60's when it was safe to do so.

The 112 is a favorite of mine as well. Not just from Buck, but my favorite in general. The size and weight feels perfect in my hand. I really want to try a finger grooved model now. I usually carry a one handed opening knife (Kershaw Cryo G-10 at the moment) in my back pocket and switch between a Case Trapper and the 112 on my belt.

fishcakes - I love that sheath. I want to find a side draw for mine. I carry my Trapper in one and really dig it

Hope you don't mind. Just wanted to correct the Etsy shop name. It's Pinguinoproductions. Thanks. Nice sheath.

I also live in an area where i get weird looks when i pull out the 112. I cant imagine what the sheeple would do if i busted a 110 outta my back pocket.

So true. I've spent a lot of time there (cousins in Teaneck and grandmother in Cliffside Park) and that's like the world capitol of sheeple.

Being born in 1989, you're 5 yrs younger than me, and I just got my first 110 a few months ago. As mad as you are that you waited so long, imagine how mad I am. You're actually ahead of the game! So glad you're enjoying it. I know the next two knives on my list are Bucks (a 113 and a 112, ....and another 110, ..... and then maybe a Vanguard... oh, and a 124... uh oh. I'm in trouble)

I'very never worked with sheetrock, etc. Why would one not use a utility knife. That should also cut down on other folk's looks.
