Why didn't I buy a mini-trapper before now?

It's a good size for my needs, the Wharncliffe version interests me more even if 'purists' might try and argue that this blade didn't originally belong to the pattern.

Consider the Queen version in Carved Stag Bone/D2 which has a Pen secondary, really good in the pocket too.

I have really large trappers, large trappers, medium trappers, mini trappers, and tiny trappers. Of all of them, I like the mini trapper for EDC the best. Then again I'm not a trapper myself, so I really don't need the larger version for most things.

ETA: I do find myself carrying the GEC "medium" trapper (#48) a lot lately.

I have to admit there is something quite hand-friendly about the mini-trapper, although I prefer a Wharncliffe Trapper.

Big fan of the mini trapper from Case & Queen and the larger GEC 48 pattern. Here are two of my favorite mini trappers.

I have an old abused jack version...needed re-profiling and the kicks lowered. Neat size!

Certainly a good EDC and allaround pocket knife. I love mine, I wasn't aware to this pattern till I got one on Will GAW

You outbid me on this one five years ago......

Mini trapers carry well, but what got me excited was the keen kutter hone, thanks for the great picture

Thanks, my old man gave me this one a while back. He got it from an old barber.

Blumetalchurch, I love the covers on your newer model...chestnut bone?

Yes sir, this one is Chestnut. I have a G10 version coming as well.

I love the mini with the warnie/clip combo.

Don't like the traditional clip/spey on either the mini or reg size trappers. I haven't found a good use for the spey that another style doesn't do better.

I never liked the full size trapper because I don't like feeling the closed blades movement when gripping the handles while cutting. The mini doesn't do this.

I'm not big into the warncliffe type blades. I use the clip on mine for a utility blade and the spey is kept mainly for food prep or when something really sharp is needed.

Could someone please give me the weight of one of the Case Mini-Wharncliffe trappers? The two bladed model? Thanks!

My Apple-Green jigged bone version shows 71g on my scale- I think it's correct but some time since I changed the batteries....

I love my mini trapper! It's like a cross between a full trapper and a peanut, like a giant peanut, lol!
