Why do I feel like I'm cheating whenever I carry something other than a Buck

Ben are you talking about the marksman? It's the biggest knife I hVe pocket carried, I carry a 110 but it's in a belt sheath. The marksman is actually very nice to carry!

I had this CRKT full throttle frame lock knife that I really liked! But it wasn't a Buck so I bought myself the Buck Lux with S30v steel! And I love it!

A couple of times, I've sent in an old buck in for a reblade. Sent them my phone number and email address and told them to let me know what I would owe. Both times I've gotten the knife back with a new blade and a discount card for a future purchase at no charge. Makes me feel guilty even looking at another brand after that. A Buck has never let me down and I'm confident enough in Buck's lineup that if I look at some other very expensive knife of another brand, I can find something similar in Bucks lineup that will be just as good, probably better and usually cheaper. Now I might carry a swiss army knife around sometimes with my Buck when I'm using the tractor or something and know that I might need a screwdriver, so I'm not tempted to use my Buck as a screwdriver.
Now that ecolite you posted above. I have used a bucklite 422 that is very similar to your knife as the only knife I carried on a backpack hunting trip out west in the mountains where weight was an issue and it was the perfect camp knife for cooking, cleaning game etc. It's all a person really needs and when the blade is all used up and your attached to it, Buck will put a new blade on it for you.

I stray away from bucks quite often. But it seems I always come back. Maybe its because bucks is what I grew up with. From the time I was 9 until I was 33 all I ever had was a Buck in my pocket. The past 9 years I've played around with others. Honestly the 2 Brands that end up in my pocket 9 times out of 10 are either a Buck or a (gulp) Case.:foot:

Awesome story! Most big knife company's have gone through so many different owners, and they forget quality and customer service. But not Buck! Family owned with the most outstanding service! They some how keep the quality top notch and service A+ without a very expensive product!

I have a couple of knives that are not Buck branded. Most of the non Buck knives I have inherinted. I purchased my first Buck knife when I was seventeen and I haven't had much interest to look at other brands. I go to the Browning outlet store three to four times a year. I have looked at their knives but the blister pack says they are made in China. I did purchase a small gents knife there that was made in Japan with nice steel. It is comfortable for when I am dressed up. When I was doing a lot of PC repair I carried a Leatherman. It saved me miles of walking in a day's work. Now that I am retired you will rarely see me without one or two of my Buck knives with me. Usually one on my belt and one in my pocket.

I own knives made by several different companies. This summer, we're heading to Arizona for a two week vacation and only one knife will be making the trip. ;)

Beautiful 112! Have you seen the new soft natural leather sheaths they are putting the new 110 chairman series in? I wonder if they will make a 112 sheath like that?
