Why do I keep buying new knives?

Mine is in the possession of said knife, after I've owned it for a while(without even using it)I can get rid of it without too much pain I'm probably a "soft"hoarder something like that.On the other subject I love my paramilitary even after previously thinking it was uglier than hell.

For me it's always been a matter of every knife almost being perfect but lacking this feature or that. As I've gone through a handful I've noticed my list of features changing and mostly decreasing and now I'm leaning toward a production model with upgraded scales and a shallower edge bevel. Ergonomics has replaced a lot of the gizmos and stuff I wanted. I guess you could say it has been a quest for me too. I started with a CE delica, then went to a PE mini grip. Now I'm leaning toward either a mini-grip with cuscadi scales or a bone collector. I've definitely crossed serrations off of my 'wants' list. They can be sharpened well enough they just don't do the kind of cutting I normally find myself doing with much control. Now that I'm slowly learning to make blades and knives myself it's become a hobby as well as a quest. The first blade I made was for a waved mini CQC7 I had but I didn't like that the bevel was on the 'wrong' side to me... so I made one out of O1.

Why do I keep buying more knives when all I carry is a small sebenza 21? I tried out a sage 1 as a remedy to this, then the g10 delica, but to no avail. Lately I've been lusting over the paramilitary 2 but will it be able to compete with my sebbie?

Does this ever happen to anyone else? What knife could possibly be good enough to replace my sebbie?

I find that it helps to think of my knives as I would neck-ties. There are different ties for different occasions. My wardrobe is hardly ‘complete’ with a single tie; it would not do to have only one. And so it is with knives.

My knife choice will change depending on how I’m dressed for the day, but I typically prefer thin, light and unobtrusive folders (especially during the work week.) Certain clips blend in better with certain pants, and sometimes shallow pockets will require a smaller knife. When I choose a larger folder, I’ll take a smaller blade as well (most times a slip-joint.) During days off, I sometimes prefer a heavier, more robust, knife. The point is that I will always have a knife in my pocket no matter where I'm going or what I’m doing.

But I don’t own a Sebenza. :o

If your Sebbie is truly the ‘go-anywhere-do-anything’ knife for you, perhaps you ought to shift your focus to your key-ring EDC. Keep reading the forums and picking up new toys here and there until your keychain load-out is as perfect as your folder set-up…

Just a thought :)

Huh, that actually sounds like what I'm doing now. Para2 in S90V is for cardboard duty due to the properties of the steel. Yuna Mini Hard 2 is for the cool factor(love to flip it) and other menial tasks. Dozier Buffalo River Hunter is so that I don't scare the sheeple when they ask me to cut them a sample of fruit(I work with produce). My CRKT Eros is for tape cutting(cleaning the gunk off is a real pain). Delica Wave for self-defense:thumbup:.

I like my para2 so much I have to talk myself out of buying another one. I have a feeling that by the end of the year I will own another.

Same here... I just know that if I buy another one too soon I won't be able to decide which one to carry so I will end up with both in my pockets. If I see a cool sprint run that offers some aspect I like, I might go for it though.

Or... I'm thinking I will wait until they make a Military 2. That should stall me for a few years before spending more money.
