Why do people stare at someone wearing a multitool or a knife??

No, he was staring at me, directly at my multitool, she said. I don't fault people for looking, but the fact that someone was staring at me, at my multi-tool made me extremely uncomfortable. :-) Hehehe..I got LOTS of replies..I will read them all, might take awhile though :-). I'm glad some of you agree with me, it was weird. I don't mind if people look at what I carry, or me for that matter, but staring is just...creepy.

So you didn't even see anyone staring, and it made you feel extremely uncomfortable. Maybe he was, maybe she was exaggerating a bit, or maybe she doesn't like you wearing it. Who knows, but I don't think its anything that should cause you to feel extremely uncomfortable. Don't worry about it, or just quit wearing it if it really bothered you that much.

Oh good gosh, get over it already. I've had creepy old men stare at me all my life. You act like you've been violated or something.

:D

I find that carrying a knife loose in a pair of loose pair of khakis will put me at risk of losing it if I sit down, especially in a low car seat. The clip makes sure it's fastened to something so it doesn't fall out of my pocket. I clip it for this reason alone. Most people have never noticed I have a knife clipped to my pocket.

I don't seem to have that issue with jeans, which fit more snugly.

Oh, I don't really care, it just annoyed me at the time. I follow my state's laws to the letter, and I carry by the methods the laws set out. If people have a problem with that, I'll tell em' to go look it up and get off my back.

Hehe..I'm sorry you've had old creepy people stare at you all your life. Problem with people looking:You can't read minds.

:-P Hehe...besides it started some really good debates on here! :-P
